The manager has a budget to work to and the more a new right back demands from that budget the less there is available for other areas and I think everyone is in agreement that right back is a lower priority than several other positions so if Jenkinson is demanding a pay rise from the £40,000pw week that he allegedly received to warm Arsenal's bench I agree with our chairman that the monies should be spent elsewhere That is fine - assuming you think that RB is a priority - so long as you can deliver an alternative within the window. if you are on a sinking ship then refusing to overpay for life-jackets is honorable of course but the ship is still going down

False, you have just made that up. Its not false, Bournmouth offered a bigger signing on fee whilst we did match his wage demands. I beleive there is a bonus put in his contract too which we didnt offer.

Unless my mind is playing tricks on me, I thought that Wilshere chose Bournemouth over us because he preferred the Bournemouth playing style, Wilshere preferred Eddie Howe over Alan Pardew, and Benik Afobe is his best mate. Isn't Wilshere's contract with Arsenal, so doesn't Wilshere get paid what Arsenal contracted to pay, regardless of what the loaning club pays. Finance may have been in there somewhere, but this doesn't seem appropriate at all.

We need players. Our back four needs to be urgently fixed. We are conceding late goals for fun. We need some impetus and the new managers hasn't brought any sadly on his appointment alone. We need points and we need them now otherwise we are getting relegated. I would therefore like us to sign some players that our manager wants and preferably early in the window so that January isnt over with no more points on the board. If there was ever a time to justify signing our manager's first choice right back for over the odds money, then it was now in this window. The season is slipping away and so is our premier league status. Stop d***ing around and sign some defenders please Mr Parish. We have made bids on 12 players and signed 1 on Jan 23rd? What on earth is going on there? We are not bidding enough money or we are d***ing around in the negotiations. Stop d***ing around with the future of our club and sort this mess out. Finally someone realises

Realises what? That SP is throwing away our chances of staying up by not signing enough. He does this almost every window.

I understand where you're coming from but this happens most windows, especially in January. Take last January as an example. We were in and around the top 7 but we were starting to lose games. It was clear we had been found out by the opposition and our squad was lacking in depth (it still is now), so we needed some reinforcements. So who did we get? Emmanuel Adebayor for half a season on a free. You cannot tell me that was all we could've gotten in 31 days.

Some of our fans live in cuckoo land saying Steve Parish is at fault for not bringing in players mentioned in the past two weeks or so. Palace and Arsenal had agreed a price and it was all set for Jenkinson to join us but out of the blue his agent asked for some stupid amount in wages. I am so glad SP told him to poke it. If the bloke wants to sit on Arsenals bench collecting £40,000 a week and not playing that's his prerogative but it is not doing his career any good NOT playing football. SP is doing his level best to get the players in that BFS wants and as some posters have already said the agents and prices of players have to slot into place and be affordable to get a player over the line and into the club. We still have time to get players in before the window closes so please have some faith in the people doing their best to keep us in the premiership and not keep slagging them off..
Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky. |

I'm sorry, but if this is Parish at his best, then it's probably time to hire staff that can negotiate for him
