I don't think Khan gives two hoots about the wages at the Palace, but it makes him sound good. He was quite clear on the LLW before the Mayoral election, as to be fair, was Bozzo and asking PL clubs to up the wages to their lowest paid, when their highest paid earn more in a week than most do in a year, doesn't seem to be a bad shout.

Although I disagree with Sadie Khan on most things, other than our mutual agreement that Jezza is a bellend, I do agree with this. People should be paid a decent wage for an honest days work. Not all people can work 9 to 5 for a variety of reasons, and as such, should expect a minimum that is sufficient for them to live to be provided. It should be voluntary and willingly given by business. Without it, capitalism will face questioning and capitalism is the only way to raise living standards. I can't honestly say I've ever seen it do that. Increase the differential between the richest and the poorest, definitely. Lower taxes for the highest earners, at the expense of the low paid, absolutely. Allow multinational corporations and high-wealth individuals evade tax, without a doubt. Con a squeezed middle into believing that one day they'll be able to join the wealthy elite, no question. But raise living standards in any meaningful way, not a chance.

Khan is a self serving vacuous ego maniac, who loves the sound of his own voice. I totally agree and he is just trying to justify his position as he has not done a lot since becoming mayor...Total waste of space in my opinion.
Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky. |

I normally like him, but football clubs employ lots of temporary staff working 3 hours every other week during winter. This is not most of our employees living it's nearly people trying to make a few extra quid. We should let the market dictate pay on this matter and its jobs like this which justify the need for 0 hours contracts. If you are a full time employee you should get a contact and the LLW.

The current UK Living Wage is £8.45 an hour Is that really such a terrible thing for the club to pay to all working for it,full time or part time?

Do what many US employers do and make it a condition of using an agency that they pay the living wage

Lucky the transport costs have been frozen by Sadiq or the LLW would not go far.

Kinda funny how companies & indivuiduals with left leaning views are usually the worse culprits from what I've found. That and paying small businesses on time as well.
