To be fair to Sam he hasnt been able to integrate new signings into the team with the exception of a cameo by Schlupp. Hes still stuck with the old guard none of whom have raised their game since he arrived. We need at least three more new faces to raise the spirits of this team

That is very true we can only hope he gets in players that he believes can play to his system and not only stop goals going in but score them as well. We cannot truly judge him as you say until he has had a chance to integrate new players. Having said that he us not doing very well with the old ones !

If you were blaming the last manager for our position then you must have felt the players were ok. So now you have a new manager how come all of a sudden it is the players and not the Influence of the new manager and his they shall not score negative tactics he has drummed into their players?

Pardew's record over the past year says it all. Keeping him in post for so long with that record is our undoing. Player's morale must be rock bottom and a new manager needs time to motivate and strengthen the squad. All this to do at a time when games are coming at us thick and fast. Not a well conceived strategy for the club but better late than never. For anyone who still harbours any doubts PARDEW WAS CRAP!!!

Anyone remember when we got relegated last time round?. Do you remember the passion around the club, and the players despite a lot of them not being truly premiership class giving their all.

I remember Aki Riihilahti sacrificing his career for this club, playing through injury just to try to keep us up..it meant so much to those players....and us.

Now even I am worried after 40 years of supporting the club I am looking at a team that looks defeated and for some of the players it equally looks like they don't care.

But we are Palace fans, the best in the league and we MUST show our team that we care and we love this club more than life..it all starts on Tuesday night..we have a big part to play..and we need to help our new manager love him or hate him get the best out of this team..COME ON YOU EAGLES!

A huge part of the problem is the players confidence levels.

It's the old cliche about getting used to losing....just look at the playing record over the last 12 months.

Everything seems to go against you in these circumstances. Individual mistakes punished ruthlessly. Referee decisions favour the opposition.

The only truly awful performance that I've seen this season was the first half against Swansea . Just about every other game we have competed in for a good percentage of the 90 minutes, but we seem unable to sustain anything over the whole game.

Even yesterday, with over an hour gone nobody would have predicted us losing by 3 goals.

One thing SA isn't is a quitter.

But he needs time and some transfer deals to turn things around. Restoring the balance to the team on the left flank is top priority which is being addressed.

Nobody ever got relegated in January. It ain't over 'til it's over.

You quite rightly rubbish the players as not caring with no effort yet you are displaying the same traits!

How can you justifiably want Sam to go when he has only been in the job about 3 weeks with Sammy Lee less than a week. This is fairly major surgery that us required that won't happen in 5 minutes. He knows what is required so let him get on with it. We need some new players and we have 2 weeks of the transfer window left.
Under performing players will either Buck up or be dropped or sold.

Losing Wickham has left us with few options up front and Remy coming back will be a major plus.

STOP the negativity and start facing reality. We all want the best for our beloved club and are used to the roller coaster.

We have got the games in front is of us to turn it around and the next point is vital.

Ditch the flags and make them red and blue!

I do not want to get rid of BFS!
I do not want pardew back.
I think the Board error was not sacking AP early enough but I still love Parish.
I think we are serious relegation candidates.

We need to go all out and beat Bolton in mid week. I know the F.A cup isn't important but getting a win is.

The sort of boost it will give to the team to go on a cup run shouldn't be underestimated . If we lose it will just deepen the black hole

I may have been too influenced by all the pundits saying that the squad at Palace is a very good and that BFS will sort them out because the players are good enough. So far I think we have been less effective than before and have looked less like collecting points than we did under Pardew. Maybe it is a case of a step back to go two forward. I hope so nothing would give me more pleasure to see BFS save us.
COYP

The difference is that back then we had a proper team. A group with vastly different abilities but guys who cared and who played for each other.
Pardew relied on it and then destroyed it and completely called up Palace!
BFS needs a miracle - Pulis and Pardew had it easy by comparison!!

The low morale has appeared since Pardew left. Even though we made lots of shooting ourselves in the foot mistakes the team did have spirit and looked like scoring goals. And we did.

This is the truth sadly. I was glad to see the back of Pardew and thought initially that we were nailed on to stay up under Allardyce, but we have actually got much worse. Obviously he can't work miracles in two weeks but not only are we still shipping goals, now we don't like scoring either. On paper our squad is much stronger than when Pardew and particularly when Pulis took over, but we had a core of players who had bit of fighting spirit and responded to the new manager. Chris Sutton said yesterday that we will stay up because we have the best squad in the bottom four, but talent is useless without fighting spirit and we look a like a demoralised rabble. If Allardyce keeps us up, which I just can't see at the moment,it will be our greatest escape yet.

Would it ?

At the end of the day we are NOT in the 'Bottom three' or badly cut adrift and we do have a much better goal difference than those below us.

To the pundits etc, it would be a major surprise if Allardyce having taken over a side outside the relegation places was the manager who took us down.It is generally felt that if there is any manager who can prevent a relegation it is Allardyce - and of course Pulis !

Willo,

Totally agree with you here.Their is quite understandably a degree of pessimism about our season and performances to date.
However, given Sam's vast experience and the board's willingness to back him to the hilt in this window with the addition of players he deems necessary to get us out of this downward spiral, created by Pardew in no small part,I remain hopeful that we will stay up,but we need some good fortune very soon, starting with a morale boosting win in the Cup against little Bolton.

I agree at least before it seemed like we were at least dangerous to score goals. With Allardyce, it seems we suck at scoring goals and defense. I can't see how this team survives relegation. I will become very difficult for me to watch Palace in the Championship here in the States. The players are choking, plain and simple. The Swansea game is a perfect example, complete embarrassment. Giving up those goals is lack of focus and concentration. Palace has the worst defense and build up play in Premier league.
