Now now, dont be so defeatist! We now have Schlupp onboard, who will strengthen the left side of play, plus Jenkinson who will do the same for the right. There are bids in for Downing, Livermore and Brady, and always the chance that Evra will sign. Sam's message will over the next few weeks start to get across, and the cleansheets will begin to arrive. We still have plenty of time to pull free of trouble....

Allardyce doesn't take fools gladly and is fairly outspoken. Maybe Benteke got a roasting after the Watford penalty debacle ? Certainly didn't look like a man busting a gut yesterday for the team.

Source who broke Allardyce news and Schlupp transfer has just said that this could be 'one of the biggest weeks in the club's history'. Also added 'and the fans might not like it'. Wonder what these cryptic messages mean?

Apparently Brady Off, Evra potentially on the cards but the way that is phrased makes me wonder if we will see some potentially BIG outgoings too? Whatever happens we need a shake-up

Personally, I would love to see us move for a creative number 10, someone like Bojan at Stoke, WHO IS AVAILABLE. Mind-boggling we're not all over this one....

Aside from probably Speroni (for sentimental reasons), Zaha and Jimmy Mac, I can't see too many of the current squad whose departure would cause significant upset with the fans!

I can't see many players that other clubs would want !

Update: PSG and some others in for Benteke. Take it with a pinch of salt, it's what i've been told and the deal is dependent on the player wanting the move - i'm sure champions league football would turn his head??

Personally don't believe there's much truth to it but he has been right on pretty much everything over the last 3 months so we'll have to wait and see. Also broke the Brady news very early

Dont let Cabaye go

Scott Dann will come good! He is not even 30 and was possibly our best player over the last two seasons. Has struggled since his injury clearly but I would not write him off

The way we've been playing this year I'd say we need replacements not cover.

From what I hear there is interest in Benteke.
Maybe we can get Andy Carroll in !!!!

He had a good game against us but from what the Sports Scientist at West Ham was telling me a month ago, he's just not worth the risk in terms of injuries.

He's not got a recurring injury, it's the joints in his limbs are different to most people and they have a habit of overextending when he jumps. Apparently he is one of, if not the hardest trainer at the club and does everything right to get himself fit but the make up of his body just means he is so susceptible to injuries that there isn't much he or any medical team can do.

I think we need to be spending another 30-40 million on top of schlup and jenkinson. Of course we need to stop letting a silly amount of goals in but we have been crying out for a proper attacking midfielder for 2/3 years now.

Need a CB - whether that is fonte or somebody else.
Need an attacking CM -

I would argue that we need two new CB's and another defensive midfielder too but us being in the position we are means we are probably going to have to spend more on fees and wages to convince players to come.

Otherwise i see it being a massive struggle...
