The tragedy for CPFC is how a wonderful net-contributor to the club (Yannick Bolasie) has gone for a reported £30m and we have done the money on inferior replacements. The combined estimated transfer fees for Schlupp and Townsend is around £25. So we have only £5m left over, but have to factor in two lots of wages, and have two players, who combined are not as good as half a Yannick. Maybe the club had no option, but to let YB go, which is a tragic position for us, but to try and replace someone like that is almost impossible. For all the clever-clogs who will now say I'm a mug 'cos YB has a horror injury we don't know if that would've happened with us. Different games, circs etc........... I thought it was an open secret that YB wanted to move, and the fact the club made it clear he wanted out would indicate the truth of that. YB could be spectacular on his day, but he could equally be poor too. As for the replacements, let's wait in Townsend as he has looked good in flashes and came into a team lacking solidity and confidence. As for Schlupp, he looked really good in the first half of last season, before he got injured. Edited by NickinOX (13 Jan 2017 6.40pm)

You can never replace players, who want to leave. We were never able to replace Ian Wright, because there wasn't anyone with his ability around at that time. Same with Bolasie.

And you can not keep players who want to leave Payet/Berahino are good examples. SA said we may have to pay over the odds and we have and so will other premier league teams. Looks like the type of player we needed so well done on getting him in early.

The only tragedy is that Yannick may not kick a football again and if he does we may have seen his best days, he wanted to leave move on ffs.

Looks like we have probably overpaid massively again going by the Leicester fans' response. Still, he can't be any worse than some of the players in the squad so i suppose it's an upgrade somewhere.

Hi chaps, genuine Leicester fan and season ticket holder for many years. You'll get mixed opinions on Jeff but ultimately been a great servant to the club after progressing through the academy. Sounds like we've got Bolasie back!

We've massively overpaid with £12.5 mill but it's January so that's why. Not really bothered or fussed what Leicester think of him, not really bothered or fussed about YouTube videos either. Can only judge him on performances with us. When Bolasie was sold I think most of us thought Everton overpaid and that he had no end product either. You always get that response when teams sell players.

Ever tried being positive! OK - he's a bargain, is going to save us from relegation and is going to be bought by Tottenham for £20million in twelve months time. That's why Leicester let him go. Anyway, it's the Leicester fans saying we have overpaid so I am agreeing with their first hand knowledge.

Can't see Schlupp being that kind of player, to galvanise, but maybe he will help if we get others in who succeed.

Nobody said he was a bargin, but we needed a left sided player, who can play at LB, so SA has gone and got one with Premier experience. When you are at the bottom and teams know what you need, nobody is going to be cheap. Give the guy a chance, before knocking him, don't believe anything Leicester fans say. They are more than likely as negative as you, about everything. Edited by Painter (13 Jan 2017 7.24pm)
