Flamini, highly experienced and an intelligent footballer who can read what is going on all over the pitch. Perfect captain's material.

Delaney - next question.

"It's ok postman , he'll lick you to death" "That isn't really that comforting , I still end up dead !!"

Delaney - But he won't start as many games once Dann and Tomkins are fit.

Puncheon - Shows the most heart on the pitch, but I feel he will start being dropped soon for recent mistakes.

Evra - a true leader

Delaney - reaches the parts others cannot reach.

There is nothing wrong in being an excellent player but not a captain so Dann should take heart.

Bit early to talk of Evra but experienced man.

If we manage to sign Evra he should be made captain.

By far the most experieneced and respected defender.

I wouldn't even mind that he's only just arrived and isn't palace through and through. I'd still give him the arm band.

To take the captaincy off of Dann, mid-season, would be extremely demoralising for him and would make his position almost untenable. I can't see Allardyce doing it unless he wants rid of him, in the same way Pardew wanted Jedinak out.

Understand but I think if you bring in someone of Evra's quality with everything he has done and won in the game. Then I think he can just about get away with it.

Dann isn't Sams captain so he's not taking something away that he gave him.

The back line is shot to pieces, as a professional I'm sure Dann would understand he's being asked to concentrate on his game and let the extremely experienced Evra to worry more about the team.

Really?

It would appear that the Evra deal is starting to hit the buffers, if latest report is to be believed, as we're not offering enough in wages (see the Transfer Talk thread).
