Serious question now. I will be travelling back from the game alone for most of the journey (I live right in the heart of the support of Charlton, millwall and west ham) would it be best if I leave the palace shirt and scarf at home for this one. Or keep my coat well zipped up?

serious answer - no shirt and coat unzipped

A woman travelling on her own? They simply won't have any idea you are into football, let alone you are Palace. But I wouldn't wear the colours.

better wear your scarf then, btw they do have a photo section on here I am informed for ladies in Palace kits, I'm sure they'd accept scarves.

Where did I mention West Ham? am not suggesting standing toe to toe with Miiiiiiii or West ham that obviously wouldn't end well for Palace fans
but what am saying sticks we've always had beer in Lb before and never had any trouble.
Well once a Palace fan got sucker punched outside the Globe and the Miiiiii all ran off when the Palace inside the pub came out.

Sounds like a football zombie nightmare.

Best not to attract attention as just travelling through hostile territory can be a problem. In the recent past, I've known bricks to be lobbed from tower blocks at Palace supporters while we're trying to get home from the old Boleyn ground. Cars driven into pedestrians etc.

There are some dangerous sickos out there who think there's justification for their threatening behavior.

Don't think standing toe to toe against any of them would ever be a problem for your average south Londoner. It the fact they hunt in packs that make them scummy and dangerous.

Wont be many Charlton fans about Saturday they will be hiding. As BBF said when ever similar games like this have happened LB is always packed out with Palace. Croydonlad you are talking rubbish. Over the years like with any club we have had our victories off the pitch as well as on them.
Personally would not worry at all, All the Danny Dyer types following these clubs are about 18 yrs old and will run at the first sign of trouble.
Few of us starting off at the BB&B at 12.30

My favourite pub ,the barrow boy and banker, it's either the start of a blinding day/night in London or the last pub before going home from a weekend at an away game.

its not your Palace colours those fans will take offence to.....its the fact you have opposable thumbs and an absence of a prominent brow-ridge over your eyes.
