The championship and league one are littered with clubs that were restructuring lol. Going down would be a catastrophe for the club....our best players would go, any young talent will be poached and the stadium will eventually fall apart. There is absolutely nothing to be gained from relegation and everything to lose.

The first half performance tonight must be rated as one of our worst in years against a Swansea team there for the taking. Swansea were not good tonight. We sat back and treated them as if they were Arsenal.

We are not in the red, will end up having players with pride in the shirt and some spirit, a new up and coming manager probably, some big clubs to play and no more hassle in getting tickets for games.

I agree, I think we'll go down. Sam will do his best but there's to much that isn't right. I can now see why Pulis did one as he could see what needed changing from top to bottom and knew it was to much. Pardew galvanised things again but the cracks started appearing and he adopted a style of play whereby we'll just have to outscore the opposition highlighting his nieveity and again the problems with the squad. The Prem changes so fast Year on Year that you have to adapt so quickly, spend plenty and also have the right infrastructure in place to manage it all. We've been chancing it and can't keep up now. We have forgotten how to defend, how to grind out results, key players are injured, Wilf is off, bigger players are not stepping up, we changing a system again (much needed mind you) and us fans are all squabbling like old women! All the key ingredients of relegation fodder!!! Sam is still the best man for the job as we're in a nasty relegation tussle now! Enjoy it for as long as it lasts ... approx 4 months ... as we'll be back in the Championship next season!

I definitely don't want us to go down (or think we will) but it certainly would be more fun for a while. Until we don't go up again and it will be s***. But it might clear out some of the absolute morons and their negative drossdrivel that seems to have infiltrated the stands these days

Why do you assume, that going down, we will suddenly find players with pride in the shirt.

Tonight it is very easy to be negative and harder to be positive. There is a lot of work to be done, Sam knew that before he signed and it will come good and with it survival in what is let's not forget the most competitive league in the World where there are no easy games.

On the plus side, two or three other clubs (including Watford) are a bit of a mess. I think Hull have made a serious mistake in sacking Mike Phelan who was getting his side to play a bit. Ironically, Pardew is being talked of as a possible replacement
