He must have known that he would be called up when he agreed to swap nationalities a couple of months ago so he could have made it conditional on not being called up for AFCON if he so wished. He did ask to stay for tonight's game. If it was a non Palace England player there would be all kinds of abuse if he said he'd rather play for his club

There are rumours in the Midlands that Birmingham are about to make a £4m offer for Sako, which hopefully are correct Not heard this one, but Sako did well at Championship level for Wolves and I do feel he could be an asset for the 'Blues'.I don't think he will be an asset for us. Regards Birmingham, they sacked Rowett when they were in 8th place.Under Zola, in 4 matches they have lost 3 of them.Think they wanted a "Bigger" name for their "Project" ! When I saw him play for Shrewsbury, Kaikai played left wing. What's his preferred position? Wouldn't it be great if he came back from his loan, played a blinder on the left, and banged in a couple.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

Wilf going to AFCON leads me to believe he doesn't think he will be here next season so it matters not to him, professionally not personally, whether we are Prem or Championship. If it did matter I can't see him catching the plane. Edited by Kermit8 (02 Jan 2017 10.32pm) Lol Kermit you are so full of sh*t. How from watching him for the last few years say he doesn't care what league we'll be in? Even if he was leaving, he would still try his hardest for us which he does every game. Like when he was sold and came back on loan to get us promoted. Remember how he celebrated? That is someone who loves Palace. Just because he wants to have an international career doesn't mean its fair to start questioning his personal and professional commitment. He was sick of being ignored by England so decided to play for the Ivory Coast. He's even delayed going so he can play tonight. It's not Wilf's sole responsibility to keep Palace up.

Knew this thread would be here, I was close to starting my own on wilf but from a different stance. By far our best performer this season, and by far the best job pardew did of progressing any of our players. He's also arguably been our best defender this season too, with the shambolics going on with the back 4. With the good work pards has done with him I have my reservations about what big Sam will be able to add to his game (he's probably the best player sams ever had to work with). Yesterday was wilfs most ineffective game this season for sure (nice of motd to choose to highlight him) but support, options and any type of movement for him to do any better simply wasn't there, plus arsenal close him down very well. The international thing has come at a rubbish time for both him and us, but what can you do or say? His history with England is complicated enough without linking it to the current mess we are in. Give him a break.
1/6/2010.a new era.we made it everyone!!!lets get the ball rolling for another 105 years of proud history.thank you cpfc2010. palace forever.eeaaaaaaaaaaaaaggglless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

And there was I thinking that the officials communicated with each other. Perhaps the linesmen could alert referees to lumps being kicked out of Palace players. The possibility of one of our players being tackled, being injured and receiving a red card for diving is a constant worry. They communicate with each other well enough when the linesman spots an opportunity to reduced Man U's opponents to ten men, as Wet Spam found out last night.

he has been by far our best player. against the arse he came up against the best right back in the world and had no answer. no real shame there. just wish they'd swapped the wingers around a bit.

I think Wilf needs a strong coach to bring his game up to the next level. I am not sure he has a great footballing brain - i.e. plays instinctively but without employing a huge amount of thought. He tends to always try to beat his man when there are occasions a quick pass would be more effective. At his best he is great to watch and turns defenders inside out, but he can still be very frustrating with his decision making and his crossing of the ball. The consensus in the footballing world (outside of us fans) seems to be that, yes, he is an exciting player, but, he doesn't deliver consistently enough to be considered a great player.

Hopefully he'll be the difference tonight, one player who's fitness levels are off the scale. He runs the same in the 90th minute as he does in the 1st. Recent fixture pile up won't affect him. Actually looking forward to tonight, 3 of the finest.

Parish needs to sit him down and write him a big fat cheque to not go ACON.
