surprised he hasn,t got more stick for losing us the win,had a great chance before the pen,to hit it with his left foot, yes he wins headers, but they don,t fall to anybody, hope big sam ships the miserable sod out Probably because it's a team game, it's not like he continually wrestled a Watford player in the box at set pieces. The whole team have to take responsibility for a poor second half performance. To be fair to Benteke he made the pen by chasing up a poor back pass. Hardly the mark of a lazy player! I'm looking forward to seeing what Big Sam does, from what I could see Cabaye played further forward and was quite effective.

Yes and Cabaye was getting stuck in more - his ratio of successful tackles looked far higher than in recent games.

Make no mistake he cost us 3 points today, why try these stupid penalties you just look like a knob when you miss. Think Wright said the only way to practise them as a striker is by always going the same way hitting as hard as you can so the keeper has got no chance and even if he makes a world class save, you won't get the blame.

Going on about Gomes doing his homework on Benteke , didn't Deeny take one against us when they beat us 2-1 at Selhurst last season and smashed it down the middle ? I'm not having a dig at Hennessey ( honestly not ) but we said he's going down the middle , why didn't he just stand up ? Yes I know he would look silly if he rolled it in the corner and we would say why didn't he dive but maybe do a bit of homework . Also why was Gomes not booked for the pen ? It wasn't a red but come on Benteke was caught on the knee. Grrrrrr still at least it's a point and I would've taken that at the start.
So I broke into the Palace , with a sponge and a rusty spanner |

If he puts the ball in the opposite corner to which the goalkeeper moves then people would say it was an excellent coolly taken penalty. I happen to believe that by not blasting the ball you are always giving a goalkeeper a fair chance of saving it if he goes the right way. 100% wrong as someone has said it's been on the cards that this awful style of penalty will be worked out even the ones he's scored have looked suspect. Deeney gave a lesson in how to take a pen and explained it as such in his post match interview

A goalkeeper probably has a fair chance of saving a penalty by not diving at all. Some players just fire them into the middle of the goal like Deeney did.

I said to my brother when we won the Pen. Please let Cabaye take it. He was fully of confidence after his goal and was playing really well, he would of buried it. Benteke took a kick to his leg as well. Plus I hate his style of penalty.

I like Benteke a lot,but if it came down to us scoring a pen to stay up for example, there is no way I would want him to take it.

The Watford GK, said after the game he just watched a video before the game on how CB takes penalties and as result did not move until he kicked ball and there was also reference made to the technique by CB results in the ball not travelling very fast or hard in to the goal or not as the case with CB seems to be. Hopefully Sam will sort it out and thankfully the teams below us did not do at all well today, so lets move on but hey ho, its the Gunners next and that will be tough to get anything from that!

Yep- exactly what I thought! Almost word for word. Also agree that expected more from Benteke- have no idea why he, as our only striker doesn't get in the box more. In first half Wilf put a cross in from left wing and was a great cross and if Benteke was around penalty spot where he should've been it's a definite goal. In the replay, it showed he was on outside of box for god knows what reason!!! Absolutely awful positioning. Need to get another striker in to challenge him and make him play to his full potential. At moment he knows he's going to start regardless of performance.
