His music want to my tastes but the sheer 'f*** off' attitude of George Michael was amusing. From getting ripped to the tits and crashing his Range Rover to importuning undercover cops in public conveniences, George Michael was a more interesting pop star than most, if not all, his contemporaries. Depression would not be a complete surprise and explain much.

I think this also needs acknowledging: He donated a lot of money and helped charities and helped people in need, but did it in private. For that alone I have the upmost resepct

It's a curious thing about all the high profile artistes who've died this year - although they may not have appealed to everyone, even those who didn't particularly like their stuff would find it hard to come up with anything negative to say about them. You may not have been a fan but at least there was a degree of respect for their achievements and their overall contribution. There are many performers (naming no names) whom The Grim Reaper could have chosen this year who have instead doggedly remained on the planet and whose demise would be almost welcomed but no, those who've gone have been true high-calibre names. I'm actually really depressed about everything this morning. STING! RIP George. Ollie's Dad,Ash.

Not really my thing. Hated wham but George Michael was very much good pop music. Careless whisper is also a very good song and marked a move from cheesey pop to well written songs. Proper pop music star who showed depth in a traditionally shallow genre

Proper pop music star who showed depth in a traditionally shallow genre When you consider how young he was when he wrote and produced careless whisper that's when you realise how supremely talented he was.

For that alone I have the upmost resepct Just been reading about his generosity. Why does some one with such a good natured heart and talent like his get taken away. Sometimes life is cruel and makes no sense. Very sad that despite his fame and success it appeared from reports that he died at home alone in bed on Christmas day. That is dreadfully sad no matter who you are in the world to die alone like that
