Whatever you may think AP was taking us back to the championship, I'm grateful this has all been sorted before the transfer window opens, what a Christmas present, lets all united behind Sam, great appointment and well done SP! Personally i think you are wrong. Not a "great" appointment. I will support SP decision but think we have missed a trick by not going for Mancini. Time will tell but dont think its a step forwards.

While I'm not overwhelmed by the appointment, we should all wait for a couple of games into the new year before we pass judgement. I see no reason why Sam would not be delighted with the squad he has inherited, and he knows what areas need strengthening. Why wouldn't he organise to our strengths? Exciting times methinks.

Not keen on fat Sam ... but he's our manager now so let's get behind him and wish him all the best. If he can get us finishing around 12th then I'll be well pleased.

That was all bull crap then about them considering other options, clearly had big Sam lined up. Rowett would have been nice and a positive move, even if a bit risky

Christ. When will people stop peddling this dross. There is no chance Mancini would have joined us at the stage we are now. Absolute flight of fancy. We're not appointing someone to take us to the next level - Pardew has unwittingly taken us down a level and we need someone to take us back to where we were, stay in the PL for a couple more years, get a new stand, upgrade our public park level training facilities and MAYBE then we can talk about trying to consistently break the top 8. And Mancini would not be anywhere near my hotlist of 'next level' managers.
Did you know? 98.0000001% of people are morons. |

Some real deluded people on here, Am sure Mancini would love Selhurst and the set up. Its akin to Messi signing for us. never going to happen. Personally with what is out there i think he is a good appointment and in respect of getting the best out of players is similar to Pulis. Massive upgrade on Pardew.
