Apparently Soton are willing to let fonte go if yhd price is right. Refused to sign a new contract. 33 and probably want big wages/longish contract. Would love to see him and dann playing together. Worth a punt?

On the fringe players, We may sell Lee (he is too lightweight for EPL),Mutch Sako Appaiah and possibly Campbell. I hope Remy goes back to Chelsea I suspect some of the players coming in will be loans with a right to buy. Left Back - Davies or Ivanovitch (Hull won't sell Robertson) Left Winger Brady or Reach from Sheff Wed Striker rumours of Gestede for Mutch (not keen but he would be cover for Benteke) I wonder if Ayew would be a better swap option

I think we may be busier than usual because we have 2 long-term injured to replace, and we have the money.

We need to spend big on a LB, and we need a striker. Having Campbell as our backup for Big Ben is bonkers. If he picks up a knock we'd probably see Zaha up top, like Pards tried with Bolasie when Wickham/Adebeyor were out. I don't fancy that at all.

If we lose Zaha to spurs, then we better get spending, Townsend has been inadequate to replace Bolasie, let alone Zaha too. Kaikai isn't exactly lighting it up at Brentford, so I'm not counting on him.

We need to bolster the squad with some young players with potential. Our midfield is aging (Punch, MacArthur, Ledley and Cabaye are all 29-30). And no one in the squad if looking to push them out of their starting roles.

I can't think of anyone we might get to replace Zaha - even if we could write the required cheques you also have the problem of getting top players to come to a rekegation candidate club with a thinnish squad and a s***e manager. ============ The Ferret ============
