That particular piece of history is used as a distractor, whenever we're in the s***, to deflect attention from the current problem and instead suggest we should just be grateful for anything, no matter how piss poor. I don't believe in 'souls'; the major importance of history is not to repeat the mistakes, which seems unlikely with Parish in charge, and has nothing whatsoever to do with what is going on on the playing side.

Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it - lets blow some decent dosh on a left back and centre back in the transfer window plus a striker if Remy remains crocked.

Agreed a LB is vital, but it looks like Remy is unlikely to set foot on the pitch before February and should probably be replaced whilst we have an opportunity, as indeed should cover be bought in for Wickham's absence. I'm not convinced that we should be wasting a squad place on Remy and should perhaps tell Chelsea, thanks but no thanks.

I have no time for Pardew and his management whatsoever, And that view is built around his results in 2016. But have to say I think Parish will keep him on for the remainder of the season.

IMO the reason for that is i am sure Parish convinced the other board members that Pardew deserved a new 5 year deal based on the cup run, And 6 months later i think he would find it embarrassing to say oops i was wrong lets pay the millions in compensation and get rid of him. i think he is praying for a change in fortune

So he is here for the rest of the season. So personal feelings aside we do really need to get behind the team, I do think despite Pardews total lack of ability & understanding of how to get the best out of players. We should now put this constant moaning about him aside (yes i am the biggest anti-pardew on here) and get behind the club, Parish is another story, Pardew is only here due to Parish COYP

I know we moan on the forums, but we still support the team at selhurst park, which is the main thing. In fact for a team going through what we have in the last 12 months I think the support at the ground has been unbelievably good. There's been no booing AP, Pardew out chants, etc (so far ) so not sure what more we could do to 'support the team,

Spartak I agree that taking into account the dreadful year we have had that the support at the ground is fantastic, i was referring to this site more than anything else

As this is a football discussion site I can't really see why everyone should not be allowed to express a view without the constraint of it having to be relentlessly 'supportive'. It would be a rather boring place if everyone started singing off of the same hymn-sheet, especially if that wasn't in accordance with how they really felt. Nothing on here will make one iota of difference to what happens on the pitch. There has been virtually no dissent at games (arguably surprisingly in the circumstances) and I don't anticipate there will be, at least in the short-term.
