James McArthur is 1 yellow away from a ban.

Maybe that was in his thinking..?!

I think it's a lazy conclusion to blame the substitution, but provides ammunition to those that see the club as in crisis.

The goal was due to yet more poor defending rather than a failing in midfield. Delaney's pass for the equaliser was sublime (for him) - but he did not keep close enough to Zlatan for the winning goal. McArthur would have been nowhere near that play had he still been on. We have also had far more substitutions this year that have not had an adverse impact or have turned the game for the better.

I hate to see the team lose (it ruins my week), but I think on the whole we have not played that badly this year; certainly better than last season. We have suffered from lapses at the back - in particular Dann and Ward are off form. We also miss Soaure. We also panic as the game draws to a close, but did come from behind at Hull.

I think people are behaving exactly like Newcastle fans did. We are hardly cast adrift in the bottom 3. Where we have lost, games have generally been close (hence our reasonable goal difference) and despite many predictions on here we were not hammered by Man U. Moreover, the team have not lost confidence as happened with Aston Villa last year and Pardew has not lost the dressing room. I do not see a better alternative to Pardew at the moment that will want to come to Palace - certainly not Sam (although I don't think he'd come anyway) or Roy. Apart from being based in London I do not see we hold much appeal to a big name or bright star - several turned us down last time. I think we'd end up with a cast off like Rowett, Di Matteo or Jackett who have limited choices.

Refreshingly sensible and balanced view. Wish a few more would share it rather than doing down the club. Back the team and manager until the chairman says otherwise!

Not that I like getting scored on late, but a lot of goals happen late, that's the nature of the Prem. We put on our best 11, and the bench of the top teams are stronger than our starters. We get gassed and they start to pressure.

On Wednesday, we turned to Fryers, Cambell and Ledley. They turned to Rashford, Darmian and Lingard. Shots were 16 to 6, we were fortunate to be tied at that point. You need a lot of luck against a the world's most expensive squad.

Though we seem horrible at giving up late points, in fact Palace was 11th in the Prem in terms of dropping points in the last 10 minutes and ManU was 1st. So they probably saw Zlatan's late goal as justice.
