Not only is Southern always late at our station but it always makes the SoutWestTrains train late cos it has to wait for the Southern train to leave before it can.

Remember when I was a kid walking up Green Lane and Brigstock Rd onto the High Street and the throng getting bigger and bigger the closer to the ground you got Vindaloo-video style. That just upped the ante of excitement. I used to walk from Norbury Avenue, the excitement of the game used to hit me as I got to the High St and turning in to Whitehorse Lane used to be great as the crowds built up.
We are Palace from Selhurst. |

Onwards from there stopping in the Conquering hero, (looking at the lovely pond nextdoor) then over the top of Anerly Hill and downhill all the way to the ground. Like you, I was a lot fitter then with speed skaters legs so still had enough breath to cheer through the whole game whilst standing and jumping around. Now I can just about drive into Sainsburys car park and stroll into the Glaziers bar and find a chair! You wouldn't be able to do that now mate the Rose and Crown is now a Tesco Express. Suppose you could get a take-away.
