I agree Dave. But we need to keep Cabaye up the pitch as he is a liability defending plus we very rarely win with him on the pitch at 90 minutes.
Still it is Man U and we have not beaten them for three seasons.!!

I hope that MacArthur and Tomkins are fit or they may have to get volunteers from the crowd to sit on the bench. But actually if they are out, I guess Flamini gets a start. Maybe he can goad Fellaini into taking a red.

Maybe start Lee and Zaha as wingers behind Benteke, a sulk on the bench may improve Townsend, and he can come on after Pogba and Carrick have beaten Lee into submission.

Our back 4 will be whomever is still fit.

GK: Hennessey
LB: Ward
CB: Dann
CB: Delaney
RB: Kelly
CM: Ledley
CM: McArthur
RM: Zaha
LM: Fryers
ST: Benteke
ST: Campbell

I have no idea if anyone else has noticed this, but when we've played 4-4-2 (in the second half vs Man City and in the first half vs Swansea for example), we've seemed far more comfortable.

I know Campbell gets slated a lot on here, but the fact is that he gives 100%, and his pace could work really well up front with Benteks winning headers and holding the ball up.

Would like to see Fryers tried on the left side of midfield - puts a great ball into the box, has a massive point to prove, and isn't a layabout 90% of the time unlike Andros.

Yes. Funny that. Probably something to do with Wilf and Punch being on fire and one of the strikers being able to cause so much bother in the box that the other striker can pull up a chair, pour himself a drink and watch TV in their penalty area without attracting attention.

Only last season I seem to remember thinking "4-4-2 = s****".

f*** it we should go for it.I watched West Brom yesterday defend and waste time from the start. One mistake and lost 1-0.
We started defensively against Liverpool, then improved when we attacked so give the ball to Wilf cross for Christian and let's get our first win against the Manx since we returned to the big time.

You never know. Maybe one of them will get sent off then jump into the stand and try to assault someone, and get banned for about three million years.

Cantona had that kind of face that I thought renaming him "the defendant" quite suited.

Hennessey
Tomkins - Delaney - Dann - Ward
Ledley
Zaha - Campbell - McArthur - Townsend
Benteke
Ledley in front of the back four is a calming influence & helps our midfield as well as defence.
Don't want to see Cabaye losing it from the start again. Though Campbell's not a natural midfielder we don't seem to have committed holding players in those positions so would play him to slow down play & thread through-balls wide & to Benteke. He can push up when needed (Cabaye can't) in Puncheon's absence.
Townsend can play better, we know. Let's give him another chance but he needs to cut inside more rather than work the line.
Seems logical to me - are you reading this Alan?!

I see that there is no return date for Tomkins so it is surely time to give Fryers a run out and also a run of games.
He might be what we need.
If Kelly is rolled out again tomorrow night then there must be an unbelievable reason why AP won't play him because he is surely on a par with Kelly and he is quicker.

I will probably get slated for saying this but i would give Campbell a start. He has something that very few of the team are showing(Wilf and Macca aside) and that is a great work ethic. He gets dogs abuse on here but at least you know he will put a shift in
