Fair play for including David Gower in a discussion on our starting 11! Seriously though, if Cabaye plays I would find that very disappointing.

Why?

Looks like he's the new club scapegoat.....

I'd have him back in the side over Ledley (but with the same brief Ledley had, with Punch being handed all the playmaking duties and set pieces) in a heartbeat.

Cabaye and Macca playing as a defensive pair is the best combo we have at the club.

Well I think Simon's head is large; always involved in espionage. (Name that tune)

I agree with him^

Don't think anybody can really suggest Ledley is better. I think what it is with Cabaye is that we all expected this fantastic frenchman.. that's how the club advertised him. He was the man to propel palace forward.. Evidently he's not done that. I just think because we expect more from him, we don't value what he is doing??

Cannot agree with that, Ledley is certainly not as good a footballer but he just slots in there better as a 5th man in defence. Cabaye just hasnt worked and should be moved on.

Problem is when Cabaye plays Pards has him taking all the free kicks. I completely agree that Cabaye playing Ledley's role would be a really good option just don't think that is what will happen if Cabaye plays.

OK so consensus appears to be keep the same side and we will beat Hull but replace Ledley with Cabaye and we will not. Do we honestly think it will hinge on just that one change ?

It sends the absolute wrong message to the lads to bring Cabaye in after Ledley did so well AND we kept a clean sheet for once AND we won a game for once. Its the same as replacing Punch on free kicks with Cabaye on reputation alone. I dont want a manager who makes decisions on reputation, how about common sense.

I accept we won in a good manor. However you need to take into account the approach of the opposition. Saints must have thought they were on a sure 3 points bearing in mind their form and our form, hence their attitude was wrong and we took advantage. Hull are different they are desperate and will only have one approach that they must win.so now we have a very different opponent. How can anyone say that one player change will alter the outcome of the match .I think we will win with either Cabaye or Ledley it has more to do with the quality of the opponent and their attitude than a one player change on our part. Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.
