If we were 100% better at defending set pieces we'd have got an extra point against WBA, Spurs, Liverpool and Man City and all 3 points against Everton and Swansea. With half way decent defending we would have got a point at least at Burnley and had Benteke had not missed a pen against West Ham we'd have got another point from that game was well. That makes a total of 12 extra points which would put us in 6th place! I do not expect perfection however, but do believe that its not unreasonable to think we should have got an extra 6 points so far with half way competent defending.

Should we? And why is that? We are not the only club raking in the tv money. As far as I can find online we have the 15th wage bill and 14th turn over. So now all lets keep on screaming we should sack the manager if we "underachieve". 6 defeats on the trot don't look good and it hurts but we might have to be ok with a bottom mid table position. I for one will be happy staying up though more is welcome of course. Thats why I want out strongest team out in cup games! Originally posted by dynamicdick
Top 10 is where we should be looking anything else should be deemed as an under achievement. Looking into my crystal ball it won't be with Pardew at the helm.

I would never want us to lose games but my concern with Pardew is I feel it's going to be a common theme where we win two or three then go on on these horrendous winless streaks. It can't carry on like that as eventually you will get relegated. Hull is still a massive game and a game that let's be real here, we really should be winning. One win doesn't make him God again. I also don't expect us to win every game but we need to start hitting some consistency.... something we have struggled to do for nearly 12 months now.

Is it easier to change players over a season or change their style?

I have serious concerns about Pardew and felt it was the last straw last week. However, that some people wanted us to lose on Saturday is utterly bizarre. What type of fans are these? I 100% want to be eating humble pie in a few months time. I 100% want pardew to get through this and be our manager for years to come. I have my doubts but whilst he's in charge and the players are still clearly playing for him, come kick off the team have my full backing. This is what we all should be doing. When palace fans join in with Swansea fans about being sacked in the morning you know we are in trouble. Welcome to the premier league!!

So , does anyone wish to confess to stating they wanted us to lose on Saturday ? Not looking for bragging rights , or anything , I am just curious (and I cannot be bothered to look through the original thread) did anyone say they wanted us to lose on Saturday ? Don't matter if you did , you clearly support Palace and want the best for Palace , just a different view.

From what I've seen and heard most fans are behind pardew, it's a small minority of bed wetters that are not!
