He listen to the senior pros once, will he do it again? I suspect his ego will mean he'll go back to his way.

It is not about hating Pardew it is about how things have not been working and one win against a very poor side doesn't change this posters thoughts.
You seem to think that one win means he is entitled to another year on his contract!
It is one win - we have now won 6 wins in 35 games!!
When those stats show us as a consistent mid table team then I will start to be happy again.

And rightly so; until then he's treading a very narrow tightrope and, if he falls, he'd better hope his great mate has the safety-net sorted.

For those giving Pardew the credit for Saturday i find it shocking that despite the performance at Swansea he was ready to put out the same back four. It was only after a training session and a few of the players had words that things got changed. I give the players the credit too. Yes Pardew had to listen and be big enough to change things but a good manager would have spotted the signs a long time ago. He is out of his depth and when your players are telling you what to do and who to pick you have to do the right thing.

I do agree he had to listen to the players, but on the other hand some of those players worked their b***s off on saturday, throwing themselves in front of shots, tracking back, ptessing and not messing around with it at the back. If they had done this more over the last few weeks we wouldn't be where we are. Yes I know you can point the finger at AP and his trsinkng/tactics, but the players have got to take a good look at themselves too.

They fought back from 2-0 down at Sunderland to win 3-2, they fought back from 2-0 to get it to 2-2 at Burnley and they fought back from 3-1 down at Swansea to lead 4-3 so they have shown their fighting qualities.

Good shout willo, I've read bollox like he's lost the dressing room, which is clearly not true,we're competitive in every game, no-ones given us a good hiding!! we just needed to stop the flow of goals against, which at least the swansea game forced the issue!!

Willo I get your point that the team are giving everything, But as you state we keep fighting back, We should not be in the position where virtually every match we were alway facing an uphill battle to get anything from the game, There must be a reason for such poor quality defending and I don't think it was the players lack of ability, More the way they have been set up and guided. Lets hope the Management team have learnt a lesson and play too our strengths, Then we can all forget about the AP in or out situation. Hull City is a big game for us

Some good points made on here. I think the key point I was trying to get at is that the way the players responded and took on responsibility suggests the team spirit is there and they're playing for Pardew. He clearly had to take their views on board given the circumstances but still he's not lost the dressing room.

Though not always the right way a middle way should not be blithely disregarded.
For instance, in the seventies I once bought a perineums from a shop between C&A.

Southampton had many chances to score yesterday & just weren't on it with final touch. I'd be much happier if they hadn't had so many opportunities, but they had loads which is forgotten once weve won. It was a great win but let's not get carried away with rose & bluebell tinted spectacles.

(Im not a pardew hater)

..so it wasn't our players that stopped them from scoring, you need specsavers and quick!
