As far as team orders are concerned, Hamilton was winning, didn't need to drive faster and by driving tactically, he could bring the Red Bulls and Ferraris back into it. That could have meant Rosberg in 4th and another world championship for LH. Like him or not, that's was the smart way to approach the race at that point. I guarantee that in the same position, NR would have done the same.

The constructors championship was won and one of the Merc drivers was going to be crowned champ, so nothing was being risked from the team's perspective.

And you cannot compare F1 and football for team orders. Yes, LH & NR are in a team and paid handsomely, they are driving for the team and the constructors championship but they are also driving for themselves.

As for arrogance, all F1 drivers have it to one level or another.

Will be interesting to see who Merc put in his place though . . .

bet Button is wishing he didnt plan his sabattical quite yet

Yeah fairplay, i should've edited but my point still stands. A world title was on the line so do whatever is necessary (legally).

Monaco qualifying 2014. Austria race 2016.

My money's is on Wehrlein. Cheap and easy deal and almost everyone else is solidly under contract.

Jenson Button?

Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky.

If you ever bump into him be sure to tell him where he is going wrong, am sure with your experiance you know better and he might listen to such an expert.

He should've been racing with a Finnish flag on his car, so now he's a turn-coat AND a pu55y

His team managers and sponsors will be telling him soon when they call him in for not obeying orders and going against his team so I do not have to do I?
Plus I do not profess to be an expert like you I just have my opinion which is different to your superior knowledge of motor racing. In fact you should ask to sit on board when they haul Stroppy Hamilton in!!!

You obviously know little about racing pal...he's a RACING driver, a very successful one....part of racing is using the full capabilities of the car which is what he does.....Toto Wolff only wanted a German champion and that's what they got...the tactic of backing the second place man into the pack is legitimate racing tactic, used by plenty of drivers in the past....Rosberg is probably the most undeserving world champion ever after his Monaco practice and various other underhand tricks....glad he's gone, can't stand the bloke!

I would think having Hamilton as his team mate had something to do with it. I think I would feel the same as Hamilton is like our Arrogant manager and does not like being told what to do...Like he disobeyed orders in the last race and I really hope he gets hammered when the team confront him shortly. Very bad sportsman even if he is British. (but talks like a yank!)

What a load of bollocks...in Hamilton we have a true genius of a champion...never knows when he's beaten and fights to the end.

Its just that we dont like success as it'd give us nothing to moan about...as for Rosberg...he's a coward running for the hills having lucked into becoming world champion on the back of some mediocre driving

If Mercedes thought for one second they could tell a multiple World Champion to not fight for his title then they're about as naive as you sound...Team Orders are the bane of the sport and as such whether currently allowed or not no self respecting driver should have their ability diminished because a spreadsheet says so...

Whilst I agree with you, if you listened to Hamilton's answers over the radio, you would fully understand his intent. He said to Paddy Lowe, "I hear you Paddy, let us race". This was an invitation to Rosberg to catch him and pass. Wheel to wheel. Rosberg was too chicken to try. So Rosberg really created the problem. He should have raced, but didn't. He settled for second. Lewis Hamilton had nothing to lose at that point, it was late in the race. He just wanted to race, not disappear into a hollow win.
