All the talk of Delaney brings me onto the point of Tomkins. Had high hopes after all the good words from West Ham fans but f*** me he has looked terrible!

I don't get that Delaney who is a tall guy defends set pieces blocks everything in sight - is on the bench last 3 times and each time Palace beaten by set pieces should be capt. another Jedinak story? Also Dann is not captain but fine player. Kelly keeps playing him LB he is a right side player what does AP not understand. All is not well in the state of Denmark.

We've heard the "there will be changes " line before and basically nothing has happened. Southampton must be licking their lips at the prospect of facing our defence. The rest if be premier league must be looking at matches against us as a gimme. Maybe the changes that are needed are in the coaching staff rather than the players.

It doesn't matter who plays if the drilling of the defence is not right. Has Tomkins really looked that bad ? Scott Dann was pretty shocking yesterday, giving the ball away multiple times. It's the lack of organisation causing these decent players to have zero confidence in what they're doing. We could play all 3 of our centre backs but if they don't have a game plan then they won't be able to keep a clean sheet. And Pardew is clearly not instilling any confidence in them. The change needs to be made at the top, not necessarily in the side. And I really hope that Jules doesn't come back in. Hopefully Steve will be back. He is a quality keeper, behind a shambolic defence. Once they are performing correctly, his abilities will shine. We need to move on from Speroni and Jedinak and get the best out of this superior squad.

We could do a lot worse than dropping Punch (for Chungy) so we don't give the ball and needless free kicks away all the time! (Still can't believe the ref gave that free kick against him for their first goal, mind you.)

Unless he's complete pants in training (which I doubt) why are we not playing Flamini? We are crying out for a midfield general and he is the most natural defensive midfielder that we have.
