Anyway, this thread isn't about Wayne f***ing Hennessey. Let's not make it about him eh.

The highlighted part of your post, the main difference - SM would naturally have expected the wall to do what walls do, block and jump. they did neither, hence A) his annoyance and B) his lack of movement. WH set his wall up, let it block the half of the goal it was meant to, moved into 'his part' of the goal mouth, then inexplicably, moved back behind the wall as the ball was struck. Not once, but at least twice in the space of as many matches if I recall. Your fixation with WH is almost as un-nerving as Willos love of Mark Clattenburg. I've now seen him 3 times and have been underwhelmed on each occasion.

I have to say I'm not over impressed with Mandada and I don't think he's that much better than WH. Liverpool's fourth goal, albeit, not entirely his fault I admit, but he went down far too early which gave Firmini an easy task to dink it over his prone body. If he had stood tall just maybe he would have had a chance to stop the goal.

So for all of his appearances for us Mandanda watches Dann, Delaney or Tomkins clear crosses, free kicks and corners at will away from anywhere in the area but on Saturday suddenly he is faced with 2 virtually unstoppable headers one after half a challenge from Dann the other totally unchallenged. But some on here want him suddenly to dash of his line and pluck the ball out of the air in his hands as if he knew it was going to happen! We usually are much better at defending set pieces than that and I'm sure it has hurt the offending culprits this week and they will want to make up for it on Saturday (I bet Dann scores at Burnley). However Mandanda is not to blame, is quality keeper and has already made some very fine saves. Sort the back 4 out in front of him, that's what is going to make the difference this season so Palace are not always conceding first and having to try and win matches from behind all the bloody time!!!

This is nonsense. First of hall Hennessey's command of the area was very poor despite his height. He was also, on a number of occasions, slow to go for the ball or completely flat footed. While we're being picky it was also a poor kick from him that indirectly led to United's winner the cup final. Some serious amnesia in this thread
