We get a thread like this for every England game. Fact is only Dann is good enough. Townsend needs to do more and consistantly. Ward/Wilf miles away from England.

England players are selected from the top clubs wherever possible, regardless of comparative ability. Is Cleverly better now than he was at United? Certainly no worse, no longer in the squad. Jack Wilshere on Arsenal's injury table is selected, not selected when in Bournemouth's team. Martin Kelly selected when at Liverpool, certainly a better player now but would never get picked. Probably never good enough for England but playing for Liverpool got him a call up. Townsend on Tottenham's bench - selected, Townsend at Palace/Newcastle - not selected. There are so many examples, it's honestly not worth being surprised that any performers at the 'smaller' sides aren't selected. Deeney, Dann, Cresswell, Noble...

I want to see Palace players in the England squad because I have grown so sick of international football that it is the only thing that could rekindle my interest. To suggest that our players are somehow staying under the radar because they aren't picked is utterly naive. If there is any club in this league that hasn't already extensively scouted every other club then they aren't doing their jobs properly. I would suggest that a far greater concern is players wanting to leave us if they feel they won't get international recognition here.

Seriously, at the Euros Woy knew very well there were better options than Wilshire; but sport kit merchandising speaks so much louder than match fitness. So many conspiracy theorists on here Whether sports kit merchandising speaks louder than match fitness or not the one thing that speaks loudest of all is winning matches and the England manager will always pick the team that he thinks is best for the job irrespective of anything else after all if he doesn't win he will be out of a job

Don't Southgate and Zaha have 'issues' since the U21 days when Zaha was dropped at the request of Henderson?

Until Someone comes in and totally revamps the FA with a baseball bat and a pad of P45's nothing will change. They are nearly as bad a local councils with their faceless bureaucrats with no actual tangible qualifications or justifiable knowledge of the subject matter making decisions based on who will make the less waves as a manager. I'm also mystified as to why Wilf doesn't get a look in. every time he got the ball against Everton he beat his man, Bolaisie didn't in fact he was in Wards pocket for most of it, baring one or two crosses he was made to look very average.

I'm to believe there was a unanimous decision that England would call-up a palace player on 3 occasions. 1: hell freezes over Patently untrue, we are the only club to have 2 players to play for England, whilst still playing in the 3rd Division ( League 1 now ).
