The reason he suggested we are a one man team in Benteke was because he was trying to justify the fact that Liverpool his team were unable to bring the best out of him. As was said by Henri at Arsenal they could play all ways and Ozil had the ability to on occasions put balls in and bring the best out of Geroud a similar type player to Benteke. In other words His beloved team were not good enough to utilise the great abilities of Benteke. He was trying to justify their failings.

Before you criticise someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticise them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes. |

So, Jamie. It's a bad tactic to lob the ball onto/close to the striker? Wut?

Jamie Carragher is so typical of the football snobbery that comes from the elite, the so called top four or five clubs, ex players who only played for those clubs, the Liverpool and Man United ones are the worst. Paul Merson for example has acknowledged that Palace have got quality players, as have Charlie Nicholas and Le Tiss. But Carragher is a different breed. Yes i think there is bitterness on his part because Palace stopped Liverpool from winning the title three years ago and on Friday night we denied his beloved Everton a win. He cannot and seems unable to give us any credit. He still talks about us as though we are still managed by Pulis i.e. set pieces, physicality etc, when it was blatently obvious we played Everton off the park in the second half. We have a lot of quality now, but just like Leicester last season, these pundits cannot abide the elite football family, the so called top four or five being disturbed!!! They hardly gave Leicester any credit in the lead up to winning the title. Why does anyone care what Carragher thinks? We know we can compete with the elite now. Lets bring it on!!!!

Nevilles back and Carragher is feeling insecure,he knows he is just the bitch again.I don't understand why people take offence at pundits, there are good and bad and if you know your football then its obvious who is what. Neville raised the bar when he joined Sky despite being universally hated by a lot of fans during his playing career. The main reason apart from his football knowledge is his honesty. He says it as it is regardless of what club or what player is the topic of conversation. The likes of Carragher and Shearer retain a loyalty to the clubs they played for and any grudges or luggage picked up from their playing careers can sometimes influence their comments.Ironically people were expecting Neville to be the worst culprit of this so when he wasnt it made those that do look a lot worse. In my opinion! Whether that's true or not I don't know but it's interesting to note that on HOL people like Carragher are reviled for their perceived loyalty to their club yet Ian Wright is equally reviled as he doesn't appear to be loyal to us

Never mind that. Have you seen the way he uses his middle finger on the touch screen?! It is so weird and infuriating!

I think the Sky panels assesment and comparison against lukaku was very unfair. They made lukaku out to be a world beater and Benteke just a battering ram with a good header. The lukaku w***fest was a tad embarrassing and it is clear to see if you've watched Benteke he has more to offer than just holding the ball up. I'm looking forward to Benteke proving people like Carragher wrong.

I'd say he probably knows best having training sessions with them both.

Carragher is probably an expert on one man teams as he played in one for a long time - the name Steven Gerrard springs to mind.
