Not getting carried away. Did that last year

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Think we should aim for more consistency before thinking about Europe.

This! I finally started to believe around Xmas then

anywhere above 17th - ideally around 9th would be good.

No We're not good enough. Souare and Dann injured leaves our defence short. Fryers got an Assist against Sunderland but that doesn't make him a good player.

We only have two proper wingers in Zaha and Townsend so we could do with another.

If McArthur got injured we would struggle I think. Would only leave Cabaye and Flamini and both I don't think are as good.

We've got one decent striker in the squad! If Benteke gets injured for long then our season would be ruined.
Having him has made, I think most of us realise that Wickham is just not good enough to bang in 15+ goals.

Hopefully Remy comes back and does well! At the moment tho we need a few signings. Strongest first 11 yes. The rest of the squad no.

Not fair on Wickham. He's a decent striker.

Not decent in the premier league, below average I'm afraid.

Well only 8 players got 15 or more PL goals last year. So that sets the bar pretty high. If anything below 15 is below average, then most forwards are below average.

Wickham got 5 goals and only had 15 starts. I think he'd be good for 10+ if he stays healthy and got the playing time. But Big Ben will get the starts, so that won't happen. He's still a good option off the bench, and great cover.

If we get a big money passing midfielder in January, I think both Benteke and Wickham could benefit.

This scares me to be honest,im pretty sure quite a few people that turned against AP did so having had unrealistic expectations because of our start last season. The trip to Wembley and an FA Cup Final were no replacement for the Bernabeu and the Champions League and of course AP was deemed surplus to requirements and SP needed to sack him.We stay up,we build anything else is a bonus. When our squad is ready for the extra weight of games that Europe brings then we should worry about it but right now its the last thing we want.

If or when we get near the 40 points mark, we can start fielding answers to this question

In five short years 2010 has transformed our club from extinction to top 7.
Their success story seems to be overlooked everywhere. It is sensational.
SP and his fellow owners before the yanks are doing us proud. Now we've got AP things are looking unreal. Our summer signings are looking quality.
Imagine what Remy could do alongside Benteke. He must be happy to be Palace tonight.....top 7 alongside my local team top 8 !!!! Haaaa!!!

We have seven matches to end of November. Should we average two points per game, this topic will need to be discussed at that time. Should a win against Manchester City be one source of those points, with no injuries (longer than two weeks) before then the discussions can be more excited.

Simply no, do not have a strong enough squad.

With the exception of Spurs, we've had a pretty easy start to the season. I generally work of a rule that we should beat all the bottom half teams at home and draw with them all away, any other points are a bonus. With that in mind we have 1 point less than I think we should have.

Try and keep your feet on the ground, at least until we play some of the big teams.
