CANNOT underestimate West Ham based on recent performances alone, a great squad with a decent manager who've hit a bad patch, aren't we great at just gifting teams in bad spells?
Their form compared to ours will have me quietly confident of getting something, although there's a weeks gap after Everton so believe they'll be adequately prepared and problems fixed for when they face us.

They have had a soft start to the season, just as we have - with Citeh being their only top tier opponent. They have 3 points (against B/mouth) and we have 10. I agree that they have some time to turn it around before they come to Selhurst, but I'm sure they will be losing players to international duty (as will we) so it's not like they will have everyone at the training ground to sort things out.

They have another home game (vs. Boro) before the break. They should win but, if they don't, they may well limp down to S. Norwood two weeks later for a good shoeing - and a reminder of what a football ground should look and sound like.

We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football.

This guy sums it up nicely and difficult to argue with him. Funny as hell tho.

West Hams problem, apart from having far too many foreigners who are crap in their team. Is the size of their pitch at the Olympic Stadium, there not used to it, its the size of Wembley.
If you remember Arsenal floundered playing at Wembley in the Champions league some years ago, Spurs will find the same this year.
Playing on a big pitch is physically demanding a needs a certain style, West Ham haven't got it.
Serves them right trying to pull a fast one and get the Stadium cheap.

And why is it that Southampton seemed to instantly adapt in a one-off visit?

West Ham had the worst defence in the top 8 last year.

In the summer they sold 1 forward and bought 8 attacking players. They sold us Tomkins and bought a left and right back.

They've lost a few defenders as well.

The problem is lack of squad strength at the back. Their defence isn't good enough. Add this to the new pitch and stadium etc it's a recipe for a bad start.

As long as we don't lose our focus, can't care less about Wet Spam though I must say they've lost the atmosphere in that new stadium of theirs. COYP.
