Crazy how one cross can change so many opinions, would love to see the lad do well. But let's not build him up to shoot him down.

Think a few cameo roles so he can find his feet. Last thing we want to do is shoot his new found confidence with a bad 90 mins in Everton or Liverpool. And not knowing how good his defensive abilities are, we might do better sticking with Kelly to start with.

But hey really hope he does well, could save us a few million on an upgrade, seems like LB is a sorted position with depth.

Personally think we could do with another CB and a pacey winging to support Wilf and Townsend for when their injured/suspended/form. Or even to bring on fresh pacey legs late on.

But blimey what a team AP and SP are building. I'd be pretty pleased if I was one of the yanks...

As the previous post states, one cross is hardly a reason to get carried away. His general issue is his defensive awareness - hopefully he has drastically improved in this area as we will need him to play a few matches this season.

Kinda ironic that Christian likes a good cross

He comes across as very shy and nervous, which hopefully will not affect his game too much. Kelly looks very slow which is a concern for a full back, so hopefully Zeki proves us all wrong and becomes the new Dean Gordon.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Zeki was awful defensively in his first (?) appearance against Newcastle Utd as he was so easy to get past. Not much different against Southampton earlier this week with through balls especially catching him out of position. Looks exciting going forwards but unconvinced just yet about his defensive qualities. He could do with a run of games but not sure we can afford him the time to adapt in such a difficult league. Kelly for me with Zeki coming on as sub. Hope Zeki comes good, though.

Good he got himself to this point. Something must habe changed. Sincerely well done lad.

Huge task to get to being a PL left back. Might do better as an old fashioned wing half.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

Maybe a great idea if his defense lets him down. Might be able to fill in for Townsend the odd game when needed.

Our squad is so much improved, AP should get a lot of credit for turning him round as much as he has. And for having the balls to bring him on...

Against second and third rate opposition. Let's see how he gets on on Friday marking Bolasie.

Unless Bolasie is played out of position, that'd be Ward's task.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Changed my mind massively about him, not just the cross but the interview comes across a little nervous and shy but that's quite refreshing to see from a footballer. It sounds like he really just wants to work hard and get in the team now. Seems to me like he is the archetypal confidence player, bit of love from AP, his teammates and the fans and I reckon we could have a gem of a left back. Let's face it you don't impress Alex Ferguson for no reason.

I would give him a run in the teamuntil January with Souare out for the majority of the season to see what he can do on a regular basis and whether or not we need to buy in Jan for the LB position.

It would be tough on Martin Kelly, but I always feel A lot more comfortable when a player is playing in their natural position.

I'd be playing Kelly in front of Ward anyway at RB

The subtext of all this is that we need an upgrade on one or possibly two full backs. The fact that Zeki is being talked of as a possible first teamer is the clue. He won't be better than Souare. We want him to be but he won't.

Wunderkind goes to Spurs and has his career ruined. Can anyone think of another example?

Zeki needs what Zaha got; the chance to get the games under his belt to rediscover his talent. He won't get a better one [or another one].

At least I hope that's what happens...

With The right nurturing I reckon he'll become a good option, and good competition for Souare.
Only those at the club can tell you what will work for him. Do You throw him in at the deep end - or start him off slowly and ease him into the team? This type of decision is the mark of good manager.

Current evidence suggests that throwing him in at the deep end may not work, although if he does begin yo start games in souare's absence, we shouldn't be too quick to judge. Lets get his confidence up, and see what he can really do.
AP seems to see some promise in him, so I think at the very least he'll be in and around the first 11 for a little while.
