Those two extra points we earned yesterday after Benteke put all his strength behind a cross in the last seconds of the game go a long way to paying off the money we spent already. When was the last time we snatched points at the very end?

He has been absolutely fantastic at laying the ball off, either first time or after collecting it. I have often puzzled at how other teams keep the ball after a hoof out of defense, while Palace have always struggled with that. Now I know why. It's a big reason why we are over 50% possession instead of below 40%. It's also why we're scoring more goals and conceding fewer. Benteke's hold-up play is making this team sooooo much better. It's not wasting his skill at all - it's milking the most out of him we can.
We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football. |
