I'm not sure how people see Punch being in at def mid when MacArthur is available and in their number 10 position but each to their own.

Don't be surprised if either Flamini, Lee or Mutch feature in the starting line up!

Looks like Flamini played all 90 today as the U23 got thumped 5-0 by Birmingham, so I'd expect him on the bench at best.

I think Lee is on the bench unless Punch gets injured...

McArthur has been playing quite advanced more recently and Puncheon less so than usual, but I take your point.

McArthur does the pressing these days, Puncheon does the build up. It interchanges during the game but I think in the defensive phases it's generally McArthur further forward. Once we get teams pressed back, Puncheon might push higher.

Dann is a massive loss tho! Apart from Defoe I don't think Sunderland are anything special and Moyes is useless. Should at least be getting a point.

Totally agree with this. Also agree that Lesley should start ahead of Cabaye.

Mandanda
Ward - Tomkins - Kelly
McArthur - Ledley
Zaha - Puncheon - Lee - Townsend
Benteke

Honestly think we could try out three at the back against a piss poor Sunderland. Ledley can always drop deeper.

Personally think that team would boss it.

Would take some balls from Pards and no doubt if it didn't work he'd get slaughtered... But if we can try it and it works against Sunderland it then gives us options in the future if we're chasing a game or not bossing midfield. Obviously would not work with Cabaye in the side.

Or during a defensive phase:

Mandanda
Ward - Tomkins - Ledley - Kelly
McArthur - Puncheon
Zaha - Lee - Townsend
Benteke

I can see a defeat today, followed by an outpouring of bile directed at Pardew.I will be surprised if we get anything from the game.

I'd prefer Ledley to start ahead of Cabaye, but he might be needed at left back as we surely cannot play Fryers there?

Zaha out too?

Mmmm batten down the hatches we're in for a rocky ride!

On the plus side you can be content that "you feared" this would happen and "unfortunately" you were right.

the dignified don't even enter in the game

If we get nowt I will not be surprised.
If we get something I will be happy - and surprised.
As for being "Right", I am often wrong !
