We've had two great runs plus an FA Cup final under Super Al and one awful one. In the Prem! And with a fair few players who just aren't very good in the squad too. He has worked wonders overall. Those knee-jerk peeps who wanted to get rid without giving him the chance to turn things around or, at the very least, 10 games of this season to prove them wrong really don't have a clue.

That being said, we've been through a diabolical run of form this year which, in my opinion, he was reasonably fortunate to survive. Many other clubs would have pulled the trigger and every other group of fans would have been asking similar questions about his future. However, we have a loyal chairman who has supported him and we are seemingly reaping the rewards. So credit to everyone involved for that. You are obviously a well intentioned and reasonable poster, which is to your credit. Still I'd like to make the following points. There were reasons for the bad run. Important injuries took away our threat. We didn't have the money to buy our way out of that problem....We didn't have the money to have multiple proven goal scorers in the squad. The run was a reflection of our status as a football club....The starting eleven is strong when there is no injuries but a patch of bad luck and we struggle. If people want performances of domination every week they can look at our stadium and imagine if the top players in the world want to come to it....wake up and coffee come to mind. The usual suspects just don't see that and pile on the nonsense as usual. As you say luckily we have a top room staff who have their heads screwed on properly. People who put money into the club obviously can have a moan but this was a little push back. A well deserved one in my view.

Every club has them.....It's like having the dim or easily triggered one in the family who everyone ends up raising their eyes and shaking their head about. Still at times like these they deserve the push back. There is no harm in being anti pardew, everyone is allowed an opinion. But the constant negative comments and any excuse to slate him grows pretty tiresome, just as when we win, there are those saying we are back on track. We just need to be fair, point out observations, criticisms and support the team through out the 38 games a season. Personally, do i think Pardew should stay, for now, yes. Do i think he is the one to take us forward, quite possibly, yes... the likes of Bentekkers signed because of him. Will he get the rub of the green, i hope so. It could be a lot worse, so i'm thankful.

Took Pardew a long time to find out No.1 GK but finally we have a great keeper.

But we must be able to blame him for something today? 2 players picked up knocks. Isn't that down to his playing style? We didn't keep a clean sheet, is that down to the keeper he bought? He spent all that money on Benteke who didn't score. Where did all this positivism come from? Edited by orpingtoneagle (18 Sep 2016 7.55pm)

I still don't forgive him for the January transfer window which was an absolute shambles. Don't like the bloke. Look forward to the day he goes.
