I don't think incentives like that work completely. Players will start to play selfishly and not, for example, pass the ball to a team mate who is in the clear. Need to be careful with incentive based pay. surely the answer to this is to make the incentive The same for an assist and goal - i.e. 5k each.

Some people might not respond as well as others to a direct incentive to put the ball in the net. It might actually hold them back.

Have to say he is now more in the limelight and has to deliver consistency! Yes he is still young but has been around for 5 or 6 seasons and the end product is not always the best. GT

I think he is still a boy in his mind. hasn't yet matured. once he man's up and stops sulking he'll become the player we all think he can be. might take another couple of years.

I was pretty livid with Shearer on Sat, however he was not wrong, I quite like the fact that Parish made those tweets, supporting our lad, however Wilfred will have heard the challenge to him which is no bad thing.

The Goal is to motivate all the Staff when all the staff want different things. also, what they WANT and what the NEED to be motivated may be different.

But the simple response to that is, so Sako is worth £60k a month more than me (if we're saying BS is on £50k and WZ is on £35k). I'm in the team each week, was POTY and subject to an enquiry from a Champs League team + the chairman said it'll take £50m for me to be sold. If those are the facts you can't just bump his bonuses and not his standard wage.

You need to look at what the club wants not what Wilf thinks he should have.I have been very impressed with how SP and AP have dealt with the situation since Levy attempted to nick Wilf.It would be easy to just cave in and wave pound notes at him but that leaves you with nowhere else to go as a manager or owner.AP talking about the lad being good enough to see an offer from Madrid/Barca in the future and talking in terms of £50 million providing he fulfill's his potential is exactly what Wilf needs to hear from a football POV.And that should be his sole focus, improving his attitude will improve his game and money does exactly the opposite in my experience as shown by Levy's double-your-money attempt to nick Wilf. His head gets turned and its not about getting better its about more money.Im sure SP wants to give him an improved contract because he quite obviously loves Wilf as a player and as a person but he also has to look at things as a Chairman of the Business where Wilf is an asset. What do we need to do to maximise his potential to the club, how do we motivate him to increase his value to the team and if we achieve those then how do we maximise our profit should we be forced into selling him.Even SP's response to fvcknuts Shearer on Twitter will get a response from Wilf if used in the right way so its all very clever from the guys running the club.

I wasn't commenting on how Zaha's overall package should be structured, rather I was suggesting how such incentive schemes should work to help, not hinder the team. As far as I see it, the current acquistion of players for vastly inflated sums, the current crop of players already at the club are often going to be 'worse off'.

We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football. |
