If they keep Given in goal, we've got every chance!
Well I think Simon's head is large; always involved in espionage. (Name that tune) |

Need to make sure we practice defending set pieces as all our goals conceded have been from a set piece. 3 direct and 1 in second phase. Not good enough but if we learn to defend them again, we'll be keeping clean sheets nicely.

There's not a team in the division we can just roll over and it's an error to think otherwise. I agree. Stoke will park the bus, double mark Benteke and hope for a breakaway. So we will probably need an alternative scorer to Benteke

Stoke just aren't good without Jack Butland in goal. Still expect a very tough game next week which could go either way. If we win it, I think we'll have finally come out the other side of the bad run. We'll be 4 unbeaten and hopefully bar Remy, we'll have a fully fit squad to choose from.

For Pardew to say that the players can sort out that sort of stuff between themselves ad hoc is not on. l is the manager and should make the decisions, Dann is the captain and should see that they are carried out, and he and Mandanda and Cabaye and Benteke etc are experts in their respective areas and should be listened to and not shouted down by those with louder voices but should also not give orders on issues that are not in their areas of expertise. Mandanda knows exactly how to organise a defence for a set piece and if this knowledge is ignored we concede stupid goals. Certainly would like to see Dann and Mandanda sorting out Ward when he wanders

I reckon we'll smash it. 5-1 with Benteke getting at least 2.

I always imagined they would get involved in some nasty stuff. Sorry, this is about Stoke. I think Big Ben may well give us another win. Came on near end and got booked (no surprise there)

Stoke's defending against Spurs was so bad you wouldn't think they were likely to sort that mess out in a week. One thing they will do as pointed out above is park the bus because they will at least have learned that it takes them geological amounts of time to get men back for a counter-attack against them.

West Brom parked the bus Now Stoke will come to defend. It's a compliment I suppose. But still, there should be a chant about this.
"Will the owner of the Red and White coach please move their bus, which is parked across the Holmesdale end. It's ruining the game."

It is Stoke's home form which is not good losing 4-1 and 4-0 to Man C and Tottenham respectively but they are decent teams ! Away from home they drew 1-1 at Middlesbrough and lost narrowly 1-0 at Everton. And they do have Bony !

This should be a great time to play them score first and they could fold. If they sit back it gives us a better chance so i hope they do.
