As other posts have suggested, I think we are no better or worse off than others and probably employ largely similar training methods. Footballers get injured. Agreed - purely a perception thing. We get an average amount of injuries, as the tables posted earlier prove.

About Remy getting injured, there should be no surprise. Watched him in a game for Chelsea last season. He had hardly touched the ball when he, with no players except the goalie 10 yards away, just felt something was wrong and limped off the pitch. Wonder what our medical staff is up to since the French striker passed the test?

some injuries are just unfortunate and can't be avoided however some players just seem more susceptible than others - Kieron Dyer anyone. Remy seems to get quite a few injuries so whilst disappointing was somewhat predictable. Do you really think Wiltshire will play 40 games for Bournemouth this year? Having said that it was mentioned last season that Palace were looking at their training pitches (which were redone to mirror Selhurst park last season) as the new turf is quite soft and MAY be linked to the high number of hamstring injuries we appear to suffer - Gayle and Sako almost repeatedly last year, Punch etc. Not sure what the outcome was, but not aware of hamstring injuries this season YET. A fit and motivated Sako (as per early last season) would be a great improvement to our squad to reduce the loss of Remy.

No doubt if it turns out to be the pitch, it'll be Pardews fault. He did of course lay it himself....

Ah yes let's ask serious questions, with no real basis and when someone produces a table that shows we're middle of the road for injuries, let's just ignore it. Let's do what Leicester did because they won the league, although, we don't actually know that we aren't doing that already. 6 prem' teams went to the USA and Spurs travelled more than twice the distance we did in pre-season! But don't let that get in the way of a good moan Edited by Palace_Jack (09 Sep 2016 11.28am)

It would be best for Palace to have medicals done independently particularly in view of the sums involved and the report directly to SP. No disrespect to the Manager. Our medical facilities are not as good as Chelsea thats why Remy is returning there - it costs money to rectify that but surely more important than stadium extras.

Unless I am mistaken our medicals are conducted at a clinic in Harley St?

I was sent for a medical to Harley St myself and it was so basic my employers were just wasting their money. Certainly no sign of any specialist equipment that I saw at Gary Nevilles medical it was like a gymnasium. It was a medical to see if he could play top flight football and altho he looked as fit as a fiddle they told him they could not recommend - the actual medical was quite an ordeal.
