Deffo a good signing. Like everyone else I'd have rather lost Mutch and / or Ledley instead of Jedi but that doesn't make this a bad move.

Agree. Whilst Flamini is a useful addition, he can't replace a unique player like Jedinak. Would have preferred to see Ledley or Mutch go, Ledley probably does a role similar to Flamini but Flamini is better in his passing and tackling. We no longer have the tactical option of Jedinak which would have benefitted us in more physical games; marking Fellaini at Man utd, Deeney for Watford, Carroll for West Ham, West Brom.

Still, we have what we have now, we ought to be better in the passing department.

Is this the same Jedinak who gave away a penalty against Deeney last season and lost Fellaini for Mata's equaliser in the cup final?

Just saying.

Why do people moan when we get in a player who:
a) has vast PL experience
b) is tactically aware
c) can pass the ball ?

We need more like him so we can start playing football that is good to watch and phase out the long ball stuff
that is easily countered.

Benteke, Remy, Wickham will hopefully now start scoring
instead of feeding off the scraps they would have been getting. I think Zaha will be another beneficiary.

This has capped off an excellent transfer expedition - now let's see if Pardew is as good as his word and we start winning by playing attractive football.

Yesterday you moan we've spent to much on strikers today you moan about a free signing.

Couldn't make it up.

Why do you hate the owners of the club? You'd rather live in this parel world where palace doesn't move forward and players like Murrary and Jedi are in the first XI.

Well guess what Parish has moved us forward.

Get used to it, or get lost. Your negativity is BORING

Ridiculous, opinons....

I am elated at SP, AP and everyone else involved in the transfer biz at DOING SOMETHING that needed doing this last window. I don't know how long it will take for this squad to start playing like we need them to, but IMO THIS is the squad. We were living on luck the and pure heroism of the great players we had to stay in this league the last 3 seasons. We were predictable, gloriously brave, hoof-ballers, with incredible character and heart, but THIS NEEDED TO BE DONE. God bless you Jedi, Yala and all the others. Now let's hope this team can do them justice and take us to the next level we so desperately needed. TY Parish & Co.

While I don't think Flamini will be our new 'messiah' I do think he will provide decent quality cover for us in midfield. I hope he is pretty match fit and has been training hard and raring to go.

This guy was good enough to play 246 times for Arsenal and 123 for Milan. Does anyone seriously think Jedi was that level?

This. Good post.

So grateful to the players who have represented Palace in the last 5 years or so, for the most part they've done us proud and it's been a great journey. Now we're moving on to the next loop in the rollercoaster, hope we come out of it on the up...

Fair point to an extend but no player is perfect. Dann and Delaney have been caught with their pants down by Benteke in previous years. Ward's had plenty of s***ty games. Find me a defensive player that doesn't make mistakes. There were a series of about 5 players at fault for Mata's goal, plus you ignore that Deeney was non existent in the Semi-final because of Jedinak's work, Mile was probably MOTM. He worked tactically in some games and was getting his mojo back. Flamini for the departure of Ledley would have been a great bit of business.

Parish said on talksport yesterday Flamini was a replacement for Jedinak.

Hold on a minute, if that's the sort of player the squad need then why jettison the mighty Jedi?

Flamini does not have the same connection with the club, the desire or can make as great an all-round contribution on and off the pitch.

He will not win as many headers, tackles or interceptions. He will not be as powerful on set pieces.

Will he convert penalties and free kicks from outside the box?

Pardew probably thinks Flamini is better, which is the real danger the club are currently in because he simple does not know a player or cannot handle big personalties that have done so much to put the club where it is.

Flamini has played at the highest level, Jedinak hasn't, why do you think that's is?

Superior player, great addition to the squad.

Too many people on here live in the past, time moves on.
