These guys just need more football under there belt. Williams has sooo may injuries and he hasn't really set the championship alight yet. You look at young players like Oliver Burke, Wilf they tore the championship apart, that's what pardew is looking for them to do first before given a change in the prem. You have to be an exceptional player to play in the Premiership. I love seeing home grown players like Wilf, but they have to have the talent and be as good as the 1st team players.

I think Pardew hasn't picked Williams or KaiKai because there isn't a place in the 25. He is short of a quality midfielder and is keeping a place open in case he can get a player who is out of contract and thus a free agent such as Flamini. If this doesn't happen he can then bring in one of the players on loan who is fit and performing well if necessary. Makes sense doesn't it - rather than having these players benched and not getting match fit!

So you're confirming that we have a recall option on Williams at anytime during his loan spell?

As I understand it (from the Flamini thread), there wouldn't be any point in recalling Williams because we can't add him to the 25, as he was available for inclusion when we submitted our squad. We can, apparently, add a free agent because we have a space left, having only named 24.

Flawless post. Why do some people look to turn even the most common sense football club decisions into some sort of Bond Villain-style plot?

Because as fans we're allowed an opinion of our club, on a fans forum within the internet.

I refuse to believe there are that many people out there that can't spell. Too f**king lazy, that's what I think.

Thanks. I didn't know that!

Can we have a show of hands from anyone that would actually want Williams playing any part in our first team?

It baffles me how anyone could think he can do a job for us in the Prem. We really think our squad is so weak that he could get on to our bench?

Would love to see home grown come through but Williams isn't it. Dumb founded that people think we should give him space on our bench.

If he doesn't get on the bench then being loaned is the best option for everyone.

But it seems a big section of our fans want Williams on our bench?

Sometimes I struggle to believe my eyes when I read somethings, surely everyone saw just how piss poor he was at the Euros.

How can anyone be in favour of him taking up a space on our bench is beyond me.

And on top of that people blame Pardew for not picking him??

f***ing joke if you people actually want him playing in our first team.

Jokers!!

How much have you seen of KaiKai? He scored some good goals at Shrewsbury but few were ones that you wouldn't expect a half decent keeper to save. He is still developing, if he is THAT good, having a season in the championship won't do him any harm whereas if he isn't, dropping him into first team sitting on the bench most of the time will only hinder him.

As for Jonny, my favourite player of recent times but unfortunately unlikely to make it with us. He has had 3 PL Palace managers and 3 championship managers and the only one to get a regular tune out of him has been McArthy. Nothing would make me happier than to be proven wrong about him but I just cannot see it, squad player at best.

Totally agree with this post, Plus We don't know if these loans are at player request or any terms of loan, there may well be a recall clause in the Jan transfer window. All of these players need to show that they can perform on a regular basis and cameos off the bench will not be the same

Ok so just listened to Kevin Day interview with Brentford podcast about his disappointment in Kaikai going out on loan again and his hope to see him breakthrough this season

I'm glad that a relatively well known fan has expressed something I think a lot of other fans feel.
I'm sure Pardew said he would be involved this season
A season long loan will if he stays all season, would make it necessary for him to be named in the 25 the following season to feature

Also, Pardew made a veiled threat to Johnny Williams to perform in the euros to get a chance this season. Well unless I'm missing something he did just that.
As there is a place available in the 25 I think Pards I being a bit vindictive

I believe that Pardew believes that acadamies wrap players in cotton wool. He said he felt like an outsider by the players who came through the academy when he joined us from non league

Anyway, want to thank Kevin Day for speaking up and expressing the joy a homegrown player coming through gives us fans. I started going to games in the late seventies, where we started a tradition that if we now abandon then it takes the joy out of it for me.

Zaha and Puncheon are carrying that torch for now, but they're not going to be here forever. Lets at least give those who have the club at heart at least a fair opportunity. Without Zaha, its debatable we would be here

Cheers

They are both on loan and will therefore be playing first team competitive football. I don't believe a few was paid for their loan services (I might be wrong). Therefore they can be recalled is they are performing very well and if we have an injury issue. Is that better than them both playing limited minutes for the first team?
