Still nobody sitting their quietly hoping injuries won't fcuk us again like last season after signing just 4 outfield players, however good they are? This search for a free agent or loan to cover our vulnerability at def mid or attacking/def mid player (as attacking mids aren't given away) shows SP and AP know we've made an error not getting one in, seeing as it was one of the positions that truly fcuked us last season when Cabaye was out and then MacArthur for months from Jan. The other position was the wing but we'll go with Remy if we go 4-3-3 or Lee/Punch if usual formations, as long as they're not required elsewhere!

Anybody know if Flamini would be allowed to be added to the 25 man squad, even though it's already been submitted albeit with only 24 names on it? No, The full squad list must be submitted within 24 hours of the summer transfer window closing, which this year is on Wednesday 31 August. The squad list can not be amended until the next transfer window opens on Sunday 1 January. There is an “exceptional circumstances” provision in the event of a goalkeeper injury crisis. But no outfield players can be added.

Clubs do not have to name a full squad of 25 if they do not have that many contracted players and in this case they can add free agents outside the transfer window. However if they have 25 eligible contracted players, they must be named.

I don't know the rules but you claim you do. So if you're saying this, are you prepared to be wrong seeing as several papers are reporting that we're possibly going to make a move for one of them rather than reporting we don't know what we're doing regarding the rules?

Unless of course Flamini can win the ball and then actually give it to a team mate!! Jedinak was starting to prove his worth at the back end of last season, should have secured his replacement before he left if we were really set on letting him go. If Flamini comes then I hope he does well but it's clear to see this hasn't gone to plan (referring to getting in a replacement) and Flamini is our only option to cover up the cracks in midfield.

He's not a free agent so cannot join until Jan, Flamini is and can presumably join now.

I'm not wrong that was a copy and paste of an extract from the Premier League Regulations they are saying it, as is UEFA it's in both their Regulations, the only exceptions are emergency keepers, and that is only in extraordinary circumstances.

Is incorrect, the named squads players can not be changed only within a transfer window, so any player joining now can not be named in a 25 man squad until after the January window closes does not matter if he is a free agent, a club can sign him and register him, but he will not be able to play in League games.

You are. Despite the transfer window deadline coming and going on Wednesday night, clubs are free to sign unattached players at any point in the season as long as they register the player in their 25-man Premier League squad.

No, a team cannot amend the 25 man squad so swap out a player for a player but they can add players to it if they do not have 25 men named already. Otherwise why would any club be linked with any players now?

Amongst other things, its a restriction of trade to not allow someone with no employment the right to work.
