Regardless of whether he is a prick or not, he is never fit for more than a month. Although a loan deal is obviously far less risky than buying, its not worth using up a loan spot for someone who is very likely to only play a couple of times.

The chances of getting him 3 or 4 games in a row to start getting up to match fitness is unlikely, let alone getting him enough games to make an impact for us.

Unless we get to the end of the transfer window and we have no one else to loan, this is a big fat no for me.

All a bit anecdotal and he has definitely done "prick-ish" things, but his fiancée's family are friends of my missus' family (and his dad-in-law is also my hairdresser) and they are always really positive about him.

From a footballing perspective if the guy is fit then he should be an absolute no brainer. He would walk into just about *every* team in the premier league if fit.

The only prickish thing I am aware of him doing is smoking and sometimes having too much to drink. Not clever but 15 yrs ago no one would have said anything

Possibly an exception to the rule given the sheer volume of injuries he's had throughout his career but Arsenal seem to wrack up more injured players than most, especially since the departure of Gary Llewelyn (ex Eng & Arsenal physio).

From my point of view as someone who works within sports injury management maybe a change of scenery, perhaps different training methods and treatment perspectives might get him a period of time injury free to reach his potential... That's certainly how I'd sell him the move anyway!!

Indeed there's something wrong there they get so many hamstring and muscular leg and ankle problems at Arsenal. That says to me there pitches are to hard and there training methods aren't great
.
Anyway there is a class player in there and if he gets hurt on loan then he goes back.no reall loss just a loan space used, imo worth a gamble as he's brilliant in and around the box with his close control and one twos.

We have 'rumoured' bids in for Rincon as a DM and for Lima as an attacking midfielder, so kind of surplus to requirements?

Just think. Our midfield could consist of a Venezuelan, Brazilian, Frenchman and a Scot and none of them able to understand the others

For some reason I thought he had been involved in some alertacations as well. And something about spitting at someone who as Spurs fan?

Even if he hasn't then drinking/smoking is acting a bit prickish because he's meant to be a professional footballer.

If he wanted to join us and was fit then he would walk into the side no matter who was in it.

Yes, but walking, much of the time, is a problem for him.

This made me laugh, from the BBC live gossip page.

NUFC fan here, Jack Wilshere on loan - we need creativity in midfield - Atsu and Rickie Lambert, maybe Ings

Just the type of player in the 'hole' that we're in desperate need of....as long as we're not paying all of his wages (as he's bound to be injured for a number of games)it's a massive yes for me...it would also signal the departure of Wilf if we were to get him (in my eyes) as it'd release Punch out to the wing.

100% worth the gamble of a squad place even if only until January. The prospect of Cabaye, Wilshere, Benteke, Wilf and Townsend in the same team is exciting to say the least. Can see him going to West Ham though if he does go out on loan.
