Could AP see Remy as more of an attacking midfielder and Defoe as a striker? A front 5 of Benteke, Defoe, Remy, Townsend and Zaha would be exciting???? It would be, if we fancied shipping 5 goals every game.

Dom Fifield confirmed cpfc interest but did say this is a back option if the Remy deal falls through. Also said he couldn't guarantee that defoe would stay at Sunderland.

If this deal was to happen I think Wickham would move in opposite direction as part of deal

agree. I'd keep Wickham. get rid of Campbell. ..wickham 3rd choice striker. mind you..mid we go for remy AND defoe...that's then 4th choice. Hmmm

Pardew mentioned (only vaguely) in a couple of interviews over the summer that he wanted to try playing with two up top (either 3-5-2, or 4-4-2). Perhaps, if we did get both Remy and Defoe, which seems unlikely, it would be an indication that we're committing to that plan. In this case, Wickham would probably be second choice behind Benteke.
