Christ. This is like a Charlton fan laughing at our start! Get your own house in order first!! You've got the FSW in charge which you thought was a success. your club is finished.

I think only fans and owners can really achieve this. Managers, like players, are transitory. Newcastle really can blame sections of their fans and the board/owners for their problems.

Its certainly not Alan Pardew's fault.

The owner or fans or whatever else doesn't devise the negative tactics or select players out of position though

I don't see that as playing a good hand with bad cards.
In 2013/14 there was two spells where the team won 5 or 6 games quite close to each other. Then he won lost 15 out of the final 23. Apart from 11/12 we lost 19 or more games in a season with him in charge, conceding 60 ot more goala and played absolutely dreadful football

Its coming to palace as well and you can't see it

So he didn't actually get you relegated and had one bad season. Given a team that was only recently promoted from the championship that's not too bad.

Question - Do you think Pardew was better than Carver and McClaren? I think he probably would have made the difference last season.

I don't think he's great but I think, given the evidence, he was a lot better for Newcastle than he was the cause of its downfall.

Three managers on, and its still his fault?

What do Charlton fans think of him? I'd imagime it's the same trail of negative opinion as at Newcastle, Southampton, West Ham

Those who don't learn from the past are doomed to repeat it.

And yet, we're still managing to stay up, with Pardew, despite being a smaller and lower profile club. He even kept you up the season he left and you irrationally hate him so much your on a Palace site arguing about it.

Your board is the problem, and because of the sackpardew.com campaign you ended up losing the one thing that was keeping you in the premiership. F**k me if Carver had come at the start of that season, you could be playing Millwall this season.

Quite a few Southampton fans I know rate him, as do Reading fans. Who gives a f**k what Charlton fans think, but maybe you should look at their Hubris about 'how entitled they were' with Curbishley.... They sacked the one thing that was keeping them up, soon ended up in the championship, giving it the big time charley....

I'm happy to give Pardew until October before making a decision.

I'm not convinced that any of the following Newcastle managers are doing any better though. Your Championship start was very different than the last time you were down there - and its a much harder league to get out of now, especially if by Christmas your not looking likely to finish in the top two.

The plight of Bolton, Fulham, Wigan, Charlton and Blackburn should maybe mean you should be more concerned about what is ahead, than your hate of Pardew.

Best of luck with that.

Agree completely re. The board. Make no mistake, if Carver had kept us up he'd have got the job. If McClaren had about 8 more points he'd not have been sacked. The board dawdled too much on his sacking because of the chief executive's reluctance to admit his own incompetence.

Carver did keep you up. Try again.

That's Ashley and Charnley, surely?

With all due respect, if I was you, I would be more concerned about how Newcastle have started their season in the championship not on our forum.
