What are these limits you speak of? Because so far, I haven't seen them. There's a seriously good striker in CW. And while I agree that he'll largely play second fiddle to Benteke...doesn't mean it's not a shame we won't see CW more regularly. He deserves to be playing games. He can't have had much of a better preseason to stake his claim.

With respect Sprite it doesn't need Benteke for CW to miss games look at his injury record with us. Perhaps the arrival of more forwards may lessen this, who knows?

I partially agree with this, But I think sense will prevail he will play second fiddle to Benteke but not be happy. He is young enough to develop learning from Benteke and then take his chance when it comes.

However he won't sit behind 2 strikers, he will ask for a move. Also we can not afford to have a £9 million third choice.

Missed half the season through injury - we need quality up front.

The way I see it. Is its long season and with the supposed new style (maybe 2 up front). CW will still feature in at least 30 games (if available and not injured). As a manager you want as many options as possible. Throughout the season strikers go through runs of not scoring. CW should use the arrival of a benteke, to better his game.

CW does not need to better his game
His all round game is better than Benteke
I really hope we dont sign Benteke it will be a disaster
With Townsend in the team CW will score a hatful
As for once he will finally get a decent cross

Really struggle to understand why Wickham is rarely in the box when crosses come in.

Look at this touch map showing how many touches Wickham had in the area [Link]

Spurs did a good job on him and although we at times had plenty of ball we were completely unable to use him as Spurs covered themselves so well at the back, they were just too good for us in reality and really should have scored more....although they did use extreme force to prevent us on more than one occasion, look at how many of their players were booked! they had to do this to break us up and it worked a treat for them.

..not his fault as Spurs utterly killed him and our team by using tough tactics with plenty of niggling fouls which seem to be allowed by officials all over the pitch, Zaha gets this nearly every time he gets anywhere near the ball, this is a very fine line and teams like Spurs are extremely good at using it.........West Ham are another.
