I fail to understand, why after slagging Campbell continually for being useless, people on here are getting upset about the possibility of him going.

Get rid at any cost is my view, not up to Premier standard.

There are other strikers that would suit us better, someone who can score!

To move forward as a club, we need better quality, not hanging on to deadwood.

Leeds have already signed 3 forwards in pre-season :
Antonsson, Roofe and Sacko(Loan)

Campbell, for the sake of his career needs to go to pastures new and 'Plough his furrow' in the Championship.

He scored some vital goals with his shin/bum/elbow and I for one thank him for that. He's never thrown a public hissy fit and he seems like a team player, but if we get any sort of offer we need to take it. He's never going to improve now, where as one of the youngsters might.

if i was s*** but getting paid in excess of £30k a week and punching above my weight standard wise i would be a good squad player aswell...especially if i knew i would only get half my wages the the league below.

I am going crazy or what...why are people always talking about 'BenTakeAway' we haven't even got him yet have we ??, and do we really want him anyway..

In my mind he is way over priced anyway.. How can anybody talk about what he is worth, when Wilf and YaYa for example are just a fraction of his worth..insane..

Here since 81...(LAST CENTURY !!).. x-Dunraven School, early 1960.... Palace 'nut' since 58....

That really depends on whether the rest of the clubs in the PL have put bids in for Canadian defenders and intend to play them in their first choice XI.

Campbell hasn't done anything wrong for Palace, but he hasn't done anything ground-breaking either. The occasional goal is not good enough. We won't be replacing him exactly, but improving the level of striker in the squad (or first XI more likely).

I think he'll go, and the Championship is a good destination for him. However, CPFC2010 must have sights on bringing to two striker this season. At least one before the season starts and one during. This isn't dependent on FC being here.

I agree, very good post. He'll do a good job and get his share of goals in the Championship, but clearly a bench play at best in the PL. However, given we have only one other striker who has played in the PL at the club (Wickham) we shouldnt get rid until we get a couple in.
