Now I'd just settle for a slip road that went south at the end of it, rather than everyone being forced on the A23 north only for loads of people to have to queue up to do a u-turn. I would agree. I was actually citing a proposal for the centre of Purley from just after the decision not to complete the M23.

Another planning application has been submitted for the Purley Cross site, and this time it's even higher than before. Currently standing at 17 storeys with a combined total of 220 residential units and growing. The proposed build is divided into 3 phases, work starting in Oct 2016 and to be completed in 2021...yes 5 years of building works in the centre of Purley Totally out of character, ruining the skyline, causing traffic chaos and delays, additional pollution and noise for locals, small local businesses being affected, continual high rise buildings making Purley into an inner city eye-sore, house prices affected, exacerbating the flooding problems for all residents amongst many other negative reasons. This giant erection is being proposed by the Baptist Church, and part of the plan is to build a new 500 seater church...have they not read about the Tower of Babel?? Please take a few moments to contact Croydon to highlight your objections: It might not make any difference as this is recommended by the Planning Committee for approval, but with a large out-cry of disapproval, they might think again. Please help, Purley needs you!! We've all had one

Wa a niceish place to grow up. Always had a hankering for the real London that my family moved from when I was a kid to set up in Purley. Would be good for my business now if there was loads of building work happening there now though

Putting this tower in said crossroads, with access to it only via a one way system will result in gridlock. Let's face it, the vast majority of residents will still drive and need to park somewhere.

From other recent local building in the area, they often are approved with a paucity of parking due to good local transport links e.g. Purley station....that will stop people buying cars....yeah. I had heard via the grapevine that there had been sweetners etc. offered but who am I to believe such heresay. At least the area will have more colour when they Baptists lodge 300 or 400 vagrants in their Tower of Bable.

What great views of croydon you would have on the 17th floor. Purley is a dump and just somewhere that people drive through. A new high rise why not might improve the area

A new high rise why not might improve the area Purley centre may not look like the algarve, but equally it doesn't look like Croydon and never should... and why would anyone want to look at Croydon from leafy Purley. If you think Purley looks like a dump, you obviously haven't been to the greener parts, and not all of us just drive through it. Why not campaign to stick a whacking tower block in your town instead of sticking your unwanted beak into mine?!
