Seems a strange one to me. Might be an upgrade on Gayle but he rarely gets a game and we have shown that his type of player cannot perform over 90 minutes in Pardew's normal system. If we were to recruit Berehino then we would have to get players that could work in a more 4-4-2 system or we'd be wasting our money. If we were to do that then I cannot see how Bolasie and Zaha could fit into the team.

Berahino can play on the wing instead of Bolasie or Zaha, providing the goals we want from Gayle without stifling our football. edit: As to his attitude difficulties, I doubt he will be the same boy he was a year and a half ago. Any deal he signs with us will contractually involve his past conduct and potential future conduct. Edited by wonder (19 Jun 2016 1.56pm)

Seem to remember £20 million was being banded about. If there is anything in this story suspect we are being used as a means to an end, namely a move for him there.

I think Stoke who have already negotiated with West Brom have been bumped up to £20m so presumably Palace would be too. That amount of dosh one player who actually hasnt scored that many goals is a huge gamble

We have plenty of non-goal scoring strikers, albeit two have now been let go, and I can't see any reason to purchase another one at £20m.
