That's all vanity driven and for people with more money than sense.

We all hope our kids grow up to have enough self-esteem not to be bothered or influenced too much by 'the perfects' out there but when ads pound them with the not so subtle hidden message of 'this is how you should look', well, if it didn't make an impression on more than just a few they wouldn't advertise their product that way. All about the £££s not others emotional well-being. A bit like drug-pushers.

It's no different. If you say you're going to ban adverts that are unrealistic then all of those apply.

You can actually make your body fit naturally (as the person in the advert did). You cannot regrow hair or make your teeth ultra bright.

It's all or nothing. What this is, is seeking popularity/headlines.

I might get shot down in flames for this (especially as I have never had a weight problem) but I think there ought to be a big poster saying "Oi fatty, see your GP".

I think Sadiq should make using the stairs mandatory for anyone fat. The escalators are for people with a BMI of under 25 only.

Always thought the fares thing wouldn't happen. A mistake on his part.

To add some whataboutery. Remember all the Tory promises in 2010? They've nearly completely disappeared from t'internet. I wonder why.

1. It's about breaking election promises, so is relevant.
2. No one cares? Have you asked everybody? You could say you don't care, but I don't recall you being nominated as spokesman for everyone.

Khan was stupid to promise a fare freeze. It was never tenable.

It's about Sadiq Khan and the present day.

I don't need to ask everyone, everyone states on here that your posting of links to crap blogs/websites is tenuous.

Lots of research on the link between advertising and body image and it's effect on the public.

I could find you loads more. There have been links between eating disorders and media presentation of women.

Once taught a year 6 girl who had bulimia and would make herself sick in order to stay thin.

But never mind the research. Let's just have a pop at Khan. It's nothing to do with Khan's religion.
Londonstan... Really?

Everyone. Proof please.

Crap blogs? Some probably are, however there's lots of research and citations in a lot of them. Can you see many of the mainstream printed press covering this? Not really.

The Internet has changed how and what information is out there.

Still it's easier to just say it's crap than argue the points made isn't it.

It's been stated on here many times by many posters. I think it got a mention in the thread named after you.

The mainstream press don't look at election promises 6 years and a general election later.

You didn't make any points, you made a vague and irrelevant statement and posted a link.

That's not everyone is it?

I also said that a few people (who I'd read online) had said that the fare freeze had no chance of happening. After which I said Khan was foolish to promise it.

It's a month after his election and he had 2 promises to keep.
