Taking my boy out of school for a week soon. Already refused permission but I don't give a toss. Will pay fine this year and will do so again next year. Don't pay the fine. Fining somebody for taking THEIR CHILD on holiday is absolutely outrageous. All that authorities do these days is dream up new and exciting ways to punish and fine us. They get enough money off us with the disproportionate amount of tax we pay. I'd rather do a month in jail than pay them. It's the principle.

A family holiday is far more valuable than a week at school in my opinion. Especially when it's the first or last week of the term. I wonder how many people who bleat on about the importance of family holidays disappear every Saturday to follow their football team

It's the system that you sign up to when you send your child to a state school. If you don't like it you always have the option of educating your children privately at home

James O'Brien from LBC Radio gives a brilliant response to the subject. If YOU think that it is o.k to remove your children from term time for a holiday then listen on:

A wake up call. Taking kids out of school for a week or two when not at all necessary and putting a pool ahead of their education and social life is plainly not the correct decision. A cultural trip for a few days fair do's as that will broaden their horizons.

If I knew who Nicky Morgan is , I would mate. She's The Education Secretary in Cameron's Cabinet, in charge of English Education policy....and thoroughly hated by just about every teacher in the country.

Enough is enough. These tin pot tyrants will no longer get away with it.
