I fully agree with this. It seems that there is an absolute intolerance to any views that fall outside of the status quo. It's more depressing to read some of the usual bile spewed comments on here than the fact that Nigel Farage supports our great club. He's hardly Adolf Hitler is he? From what I've seen of him and how he conducts himself I reckon he's the kind of person who it would be good to go for a pint with. At least he's interesting and has the courage of his convictions. I dread the day we're all brain washed into thinking like Liberal sheep with no thoughts of our own. Eddie Izzard also has quite strong political views on the other side of the political spectrum, but that's ok supposedly.

Just goes to show the power that media and politicians have in making people think in certain ways, unfortunately. At least these comments show that some people at least see through it.

Not surprising he aligns himself with Palace as he is/ was local. Went to the same school as Parish, Goldberg, and, I have to admit, myself.

Dulwich College / Alleyn's ?

Surely Parish didn't go to Dulwich College? Not being snobby but in my day all their pupils were well spoken

I'm sure there are people who are Palace fans with far more sinister or nasty politics. I don't like the guys politics and party, but they're hardly the devil.

Nail on head is this.

His secondary school was Dulwich College - a rugby-playing school.

Don't know where he went to primary.

So because his political beliefs are different to yours and possibly the majorities it makes it embarrassing to support the same football club?

Despite him at least being intelligent enough to carve a career out of his political beliefs and be able to back his arguments enough to win public votes, we somehow see this as not okay but are fine with drunken fat louts chanting racist and homophobic slurs because they aren't in the public eye?

A democracy is being allowed to have your own alliance but it appears you can only vote labour, Conservative or racist.

Before you ask, no I do not vote UKIP, I just hate when people berate others for different beliefs and say they can't support the football club because of that. Ridiculous.

Agree completely, are the same people who are offended by a fan with different political beliefs also offended by fans of a different skin colour or religion ?

I couldn't care less, I'm not a ukip supporter but will be voting out.
Typical left wing liberals, preach all to be treated equally but are the first to attack someone for having different beliefs. Can't stand them.

Not only does he "support" my football club he went to my school too, which may explain why, as we had school on Saturday mornings so Palace was the only real option.

Is we had "Extra Lesson" i.e. double detention on a Saturday afternoon that was it we'd miss the match entirely.

Glad
