Glad to hear it - we still need a creative midfielder.

I really don't get this FFP business. This 'simple' BBC guide to how it works seems to indicate that the only criterion is losses (i.e. clubs that make a defined loss can't just cover it by the owners putting more money in without suffering penalties). It has a clear aim of preventing overspending. As Palace haven't been making large losses and have, in fact, made a profit recently it's difficult to see how we could fall foul of the regs, particularly compared to other big spenders. I wonder if FFP is not something Parish says publicly to a) curtail the expectations of fans to what the board are willing and able to spend and b) a message to players and clubs who we might be looking to buy/buy from - in the same fashion as "we're not desperate to buy but in the right player at the right price comes along, we might do a deal"

I thought Ledley was anonymous against Spurs. Jedinak does more but also makes more mistakes and always looks like a disaster waiting to happen. I'd be happy with a decent bid for either (and keep Williams).

I think wages can't grow by more than £12 million a year unless it's covered by an uplift in turnover. You are only exempt from the wage restrictions if your wages are less than £60 mill per year. Whilst I think we are well within the 3 year loss rule, I think our wages may well have gone up pretty heavily, with players like Cabaye probably on £3m a year alone.

Ledley really doesn't shine in any department. His passing is inferior to Cabaye and McArthur as is his tackling. Jedinak, while limited does enforce himself on games, winning tackles, headers. I think Mile most of all needs game time, a few sub appearances here or there isn't right for his game. Whilst there is not much between them in terms of overall qualities I think with Jedinaks leadership and having that tackling and aerial ability should remain at the club.

Could this mean a move for Yachine Brahimi is still on (Syd our prayers for a creative player have been answered). Heard that we spoke with Porto but were way off in their valuation of the lad. Maybe if we move a few on we'd be able to fund a fee and his wages? Would put him the Cabaye bracket, an incredible talent.
Dont let Cabaye go |

That makes more some sense if FFP restrictions reasons are totally genuine. However we don't seem to shy from giving players better contracts. Although I guess giving say, Souare a contract that earns him an extra (purely a guess for example purposes) £500,000 per year is different from bringing someone in for £1.5m per year. Wouldn't the American money, even though it's ear-marked for stadium plans, count as a bumper increase in turnover though?
