I bet none of you are this picky when you go out for the night in Croydon.

Peter Crouch or Gregoire Defrel ?one is aging, experienced,a nuisance for defenders. The other is inexperienced to the league, like a whippet on speed, young.

I had this thought only the other day and I think he'd be perfect for the short term. A short contact or loan deal.

You say 'old' but he has a wealth of experience and we could benefit from his positional sense when the younger legs of Yala and Wilf are on the charge.

It would be graet competetiton for CW if he's fit and a really good fit if CW is injured.

He is, indeed, underestimated having no small measure of skill on the ground to add to his obvious aeriel threat.

I would imagine, too, that he'd be really keen to do well for his 'last hurrah'. i'm not sure he's be that expensive, either.

What's not to like?

I'm greedy, go for both Crouch and Austin, they would do us proud.

But that's purely down to if he'll get the service ...as with ANYONE quoted..and there in lies the lreal problem...our quality in to whoever it is that does or will play up front.

This is why i'd far rather see a playmaker come to the club. itd add more value.

Given our shocking crossing of late he would be a perfect fit as he is probably the only person that would be able to get on the end of it.

A Playmaker...? You don't consider Cabaye a playmaker then....? Or just back up for him?

I sense that Crouchy's heart would remain too close to Stoke for a move elsewhere, esp. his footballing age. He'd be priceless talent-scouting eventually within Stoke regional schools and football clubs.
