Never been a fan of his as too young; however his influence on British and world music was immense. If only I didn't have to listen to that simpering c*** Nicky Campbell all morning droning on about how he met him here and there. RIP Ziggy

Now that someone I care about has died I will take the chance to say this: one of the most contemptable, disgusting facets of this website is the pathetic pleasure some of you seem to derive from creating posts with celebrity names as their titles and the word "dead" in the text portion. It seems that you can't get the post out quickly enough, such is your desire for a small amount of recognition from others' pain and misfortune. This time we even had two posts out at the same time and another five minutes later- you couldn't even wait long enough to check if there was a duplicate thread. It's an insensitive thing to do and not a pleasant way to find out someone you care about has died. I'm not saying it can't be talked about here but jumping on your laptop the instant you find out is NOT the way to do it. Major Tom signing off. Edited by Jamesrichards8 (11 Jan 2016 7.22am) Edited by Jamesrichards8 (11 Jan 2016 7.24am) What are you talking about? Do people put "Joe bloggs" "dead, good suck on that etc etc". No they don't.99.9% of the time the thread title is the name of the person followed by "dead. RIP will be missed etc" then nice things about them.Whats wrong with that? Plus it's tradition on here so don't expect it to change just because your super sensitive. Jesus.

You don’t have to listen to Nicky Campbell, if you don’t like his show, there are dozens of other stations to listen to. I listened to Nicky when taking the kids to school this morning and you could feel his sense of personal loss (which many of us - regardless of if we ever met DB or not) are this morning feeling.

Hunky Dory, Ziggy Stardust, Aladdin Sane - three albums no self-respecting music collection should be without. And I think you can add Station to Station, Low and "Heroes" to that list as well! You really ought to add Diamond Dogs and Pin Ups too.... and I love Scary Monsters..
Fvck even The Man Who Sold the World has still got its mojo.

"Dancing in the Street" with Jagger. Nobody had mentioned that though. A lot of great stuff. Tx for being a truly great star.

Even the young sprogs knew who he was when I told them the news this morning. But that's because I've sang 'Kooks' to them at bedtime only about 200 times.
